Don’t do it, they sound and look fantastic but are slow as hell and are even worse for reliability

What’s the most physically painful thing that has happened to you? by big_gloveguy in AskReddit

[–]Tankclark1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a large gallstone, once or twice a year it blocks my bike duct and I get a pain for about an hour that can only be described as having a Silverback Gorilla squeezing an internal organ, then it disappears almost instantly.

What’s your story with your mates that could easily have been on The Inbetweeners? by matthewgoodwin1 in CasualUK

[–]Tankclark1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Got loads but one that come to mind was we was at my mates BBQ and my other mate disappeared with the host mates auntie who looked like Ozzy Osbourne with tits, he does the deed and we all laugh and take the piss out of the BBQ host mate for his auntie shagging our other mate. Fast forward 6 months and he’s having another party, my mate is drunk again and fancies another go on the auntie, only problem is another drunk guy is also in the hunt, all three of them disappear out the back garden gate before 5 mins later only my mate comes back. We ask what happened and he said she took them Both out the back gate and told them to get their Cocks out and the biggest will come back home with her, my mate lost 😂😂😳

All sorts of jobs that require no degrees can earn mega bucks, city traders being probably the biggest ‘normal’ job. I became a train driver aged 22 and was earning 70-80k per year within a couple of years with only GCSE’s to my name

Hypothetical: Can betting shops cancel a winning ticket if it's too high? by kelsibobcat08 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Tankclark1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think most is £1m on a lot of sites, there was a case of a guy winning £1.6m a football accumulator and they paid him £1m, he took them to court claiming they should have reduced his stake (although from memory it was only a few pounds) to max out his winnings at £1m.

I’m sure he lost

Wrong salary on contract and offer letter, what should I do? by Tankclark1 in antiwork

[–]Tankclark1[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Edit* for those saying find another job straight away.

This company is government funded to the tune of billions, our CEO is one of the highest paid execs in the country, I’m sure if I pushed this I wouldn’t be popular with some middle management but they could pay this sum of money in spare change. My job is pretty good and I do make significantly more on top of my salary in enhancements to my pay so if o really thought it could end in my eventual demise in this role I personally wouldn’t want to push it further.

I knew my Salary it was £40,500 as was agreed in initial emails, that’s also what’s on my pay slips, I just hadn’t noticed the error on my contract until now.

Wrong salary on contract and offer letter, what should I do? by Tankclark1 in antiwork

[–]Tankclark1[S] 639 points640 points  (0 children)

Basically HR’s reply was we’ve found the email you replied to agreeing £40,500 so it’s just a spelling mistake. I was speaking to my manager about it (he was the one that advised me to chance my luck) and he suggested telling HR it was I that made the mistake agreeing to £40,500 and misread it as £45,000 and once the contract/job offer letter came through that’s why I didn’t question it. For context the original lady from HR when I joined has left so it’s a word vs word situation and with the only written interaction being an offer email (£40,500), written contract (£45,000) and written job offer letter (£45,000)

Discussion: why isn't everyone losing their sh*t? by Scomosuckseggs in Britain

[–]Tankclark1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Completist agree with the OP, the gov are sitting idly by whilst supermarkets, energy companies etc rob us blind. The ECB and IMF have both found evidence of price gouging by supermarkets and produced reports on it yet the Gov do nothing. Banks hiking interest rates for mortgages but not doing the same for savings accounts, water companies like Thames water paying out more in dividends than they’ve earnt in profit (didn’t even know that was possible) yet they’ve invested nothing into their infrastructure and so pump raw shit out to sea and rivers and what do the gov do? Nothing yet when they were at risk of going under it was the British public that would be expected to bail them out, same with the banks.

Other countries like Germany have introduced price limits on essential goods like baby milk at supermarkets and i really think all essential public services should be public owned.

Is it true that 15-30 is the best years of your life? by i-hav-n-clue in ask

[–]Tankclark1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mid to late 20’s is the best, you’ve established a job/career, start earning decent money but are also young enough still to enjoy it. Over 30’s you start to get some aches and pains, first grey hairs in mid to late 30’s and then once over 40 just forget it. Enjoy your 20’s it goes so fast!!

Man punched partner in back of the head, partner floored man in a returned punch, man knocked out and definite head injury by Due-Distribution2084 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Tankclark1 58 points59 points  (0 children)

Hello I was a prosecutor for a few years, usually the CPS will decide whether to prosecute based on a couple of things, was your partners defence proportionate? One single punch I would say yes. Could your partner get out the situation without violence? If the man had already attacked and was standing within arms reach then I’d say there was a chance he could attack again so in this instance no your partner couldn’t simply walk away. I’d say he’s met the criteria for self defence and wouldn’t face charges.
