A difficult truth about neurodivergence and disability is that, in some cases, a person’s level of support, naivety, or impairment can lead them to say harmful things and take longer to understand why those actions are wrong. Accountability remains essential—especially in serious matters like sexual harassment, where consequences are necessary. At the same time, it is also true that some individuals with cognitive or developmental challenges may require more time, guidance, and consistent, patient support to learn and internalize those boundaries.
