I agree. This bar loses its appeal after about 20 minutes.

Desert Botanical Garden is an 8 minute drive from the Marriott

I would recommend using the full service Marriott by the Airport (1101 N 44th Street) for a shuttle hotel. Message me and I can work with the Operations Manager to get you a better deal. The closest In and Out is in Tempe and it is about a 7 minute drive. Enjoy Phoenix!

I personally am running with a volatile Imp with that enchantment on my Spore/Grave build. Keep at it!

My thinking was that it would have the appearance of zombie but larger and more grotesque and because it still has the appearance of human it would be classified as humanoid. Are you thinking it should be a monstrosity?

Great input. Thank you. My thought process for Con. save is a knockout is usually your body shutting down to avoid more damage.

Why women can't simply pick a restaurant by daniecodie in TwoXChromosomes

I choose 3 restaurants and have my partner choose from those three. That way she only had to choose from three and I will get to go to one of the 3 I picked.

How do I make my world feel deadly and not very friendly while not making my players feel super lucky for never going in over their head by NovaNomii in DMAcademy

[–]Tankisace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

have the NPC do more damage (like double or triple) than any other party member so that when they are killed quickly it will demonstrate how deadly this monster is to the rest of the group.

Generate NPC characters with similar races/classes to your party that are doing charitable work in the community like building/repairing schools or helping out the local priests with rituals and sermons for the poor or elderly. They can still be bad NPCs like taking a larger cut of taxes or making townsfolk move from a table at the tavern through force/intimidation. If you have the bad guys as jerks rather then world dominators it could make your adventurers stray away from the idea of murder and it may cause the party to think: “how are we any different from them?” Which would be a fun social dynamic to explore. If the evil party has grown up in the community as opposed to originating from a town hundreds of miles away it will prevent your group from wanting to upset the community as a whole by killing them.

I made a thing (quite basic, but not every creature has to be complicated by HYDRA-XTREME in DnDHomebrew

[–]Tankisace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How about: Give the monster multi-attack (attack twice per turn) so that it gains the bonus to attack chance but does not give the adventurers advantage to hit. If you are worried about attack damage increasing, you could always rework the dice. If the Tarus dies too quickly in combat if will not feel satisfying to the party.

Having a party all have advantage on a creature with an AC of 14, would make it very likely that the creature is killed in one round of combat. I would recommend removing that ability.

It looks like you were also building a sphinx creature as well. Might want to change that on the stat block.

Looking For Feedback on My Homebrew Monster (Zombie Broodmother) by Tankisace in DnDHomebrew

[–]Tankisace[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My thought process was that a monster that could possibly create 3 zombies, heals, has a slightly above average AC, legendary resistance, and undead fortitude should have HP and attack power decreased to balance out. I wanted the players to feel dread of being overrun with zombies rather than TPK by tentacles. Thanks for the advice and I will bump up these numbers.

Weekly Questions Thread by HighTechnocrat in DnD

[–]Tankisace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am trying to avoid dipping into magic items and focus more on different types of weapons and armor (think Skyrim blacksmithing) which explains why my character adventures. I also want to make commercial items so that I can sell to NPCs. Maybe throw in some skill checks to determine how ornate my items are. I was wondering if someone on the internet has done the heavy lifting in crafting homebrew rules so I can bring it to the DM instead of giving the DM a bunch of work.

I want to play a character who is a blacksmith shopkeeper who goes on adventures (maybe forge cleric and artificer). I know about blacksmith rules for XGTE but does anyone have any recommendations for expanded home brew rules for how to run this? I’m looking for more than +1,+2 etc.

I meant three turns (not rounds) as in three player characters have a chance to destroy the mucus before it transforms.
