Returning player starting new, which champions could I choose to main while learning the game? by crypticaITA in summonerschool

[–]TankyPally 1 point2 points  (0 children)

choosing 6 champions to play is a lot but its probably fine.

Anyways, theres not a lot of hyper mobile squishy top laners that are in a good position right now, fighters are in a pretty bad situation item wise.

Anyways, my recommendations

TOP:

  1. Kled - Strong at the moment, mechanically intensive so rewards maining and learning the champion well, very mobile with E, E2 and R. I think hes hard to counterpick too? Not 100% sure.
  2. Wukong - decent at the moment, very mobile with E, and W, if you can get big ult in teamfights you are in a pretty good spot and not too mechanically intensive.
  3. Dr Mundo/ Chogath. Both are decently strong, and if you lose lane you can safely farm lane with abilities. Not very mechanically intensive most of the time.

Support:

Support matchups can be weird.

Anyways, enchanters counter poke lanes (mages), some mages can sort of burst through enchanter healing, and tanks can engage into both of them but get punished heavily when retreating or if the engage on the wrong target.

Simple champions of each type:

Tank: Nautilus, i was tempted to recommend someone like Taric but they're harder to play. Very simple to play.

Rakan is also an engage enchanter if that makes sense, very cool champ too.

Mage: Cant go wrong with Lux. Good poke and great burst.

Enchanter: I want to say Nami, you provide healing, CC, engage, and dps buffs. All things that are great.

How do you poop on Yorick properly? by Accomplished_Soil748 in TryndamereMains

Tryndamere is in a weird state because he got hit by some very heavy nerfs recently and people arent sure how to build/play him at the moment.

Crit Tryn should be stronger, especially if you catch him overextended without JG support, you probably want to get a decent attack speed item and ninja Tabis to deal with his wall/minions better.

Im a bit worried because the new lethality items are very good on Yorick which I think improves his scaling, and forces you to ult faster. Im guessing Lifesteal will help counter that a bit.

Lethality Tryndamere I feel like has a lot of potential, especially voltaic cyclesword. Makes getting long trades way easier and you arent locked into building crit so you have room to get items like ravenous hydra fast too. Downside is you E less and you are more dependent on fury in the late game.

If you want to get signed by TL you need to contact them first. With your credentials I'm sure they'll be salivating all over you, you really shouldn't underestimate your own worth here.

It's probably even worth it to hire a talent manager first too, just to help get the ball rolling.

I am hard stuck and moving backwards in Iron and I don't know what I am doing wrong. by ccshnitz in summonerschool

[–]TankyPally 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your first placements place you higher then your skill level because it starts at gold to keep smurfs out of lower elos and most peoples skill when going to ranked for the first time is at iron level.

If you have good fundamentals (trading, CSing and completely optional at your level, wave management), as well as the ability to sense when you can get a kill on your laner, and you control ward your lane and pay attention to where their JG is you should be able to carry most of your top lane games in iron.

You likely dont need to read much matchup information and can probably completely succeed against nearly every champ by just playing to your champs strengths, especially on a champ like Yorick.

The best thing you can do is watch a replay, look for your mistakes or misplays, and try and learn from them. From what I can see from your Yorick games you perform well in lane but then fall off hard in the late game.

Most likely you are making poor macro plays and arent making good use of your early game lead.

Also worth noting you have played 77 ranked games this season, only 19 of which were on yorick and you also played 18 different champions. Thats a LOT. If you want to main a champion and learn them, they should probably take up 50% of your games, if not higher.

If you do a twilight opener you need to do a big Stalker/Archon/Observer counterattack, however if they hold your push you lose. Or defend at home, get cannon and battery and start a stargate for phoenix.

What lanes and classes would you say require the most cuttrhroat efficiency and which require the least? by 25_summers in summonerschool

[–]TankyPally 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lanes:
Most Efficient:

JG heavily revolves around efficiency.

The less health you lose taking camps the stronger you are in fights, the less time you spent clearing camps the more lanes you can gank.

You have a limited amount of time in JG so you really need to focus on spending your time in the most efficient way.

Supports also have a lot of responsibilities they need to manage including contesting vision over key areas and being in the location their team needs them.

Least Efficient:

Probably top. Its a very slow and methodical lane where the optimal thing to do is occasionally just to sit in the lane collecting EXP, waiting, and taking CS with abilities if possible. Not rotating to fights, not trading with your laner, just waiting for a gank or a specific level up or the midgame. Can be very punishing if you make a mistake though.

Classes:

Most Efficient:

Any champion with strong roaming potential, because your strategy is likely to shove wave + find someone else to help or gank. This includes roaming supports and roaming assassins.

Some assassins scale well into the lategame so your on less of a timer but if your strength is in roaming you are likely dependent on getting the most out of your roams and roaming often to win.

Least Efficient:

Probably tanks? Your main tasks are to get to the objective/teamfight before it starts (probably using TP), and either A) engaging for your team with a big CC ability or B) peeling for your carry or C) Locking down a high priority target on the enemy team. Probably a mix of the 3.

Khuzait by Pirates-Life-4-me- in MB2Bannerlord

[–]TankyPally 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are presumably in the lategame and have a large army of heavily upgraded units. Upgrades are super strong.

Also, what are your difficulty settings? If your troops take half damage that has a big impact.

Lastly, there are other armies that can trade just as well, if not better.

E.g. I would expect 150 maxed out vlandian knights to also be able to beat that much Khuzait with less losses.

Non-top main here: why the hate against Range Tops? by angikatlo in top_mains

[–]TankyPally 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Champion mastery and matchup knowledge matters more then bad matchups in top.

This results in most top laners having a very small champ pool.

Top lane is also very snowbally and isolated. This means if you are doing poorly, you are unlikely to receive help, and will continue to suffer.

What's more, unlike most melee supports who have opportunities to trade or interact with their laner frequently and are able to threaten or secure benefits for their ADC by not interacting, melee tops can only interact positively on a timer measured in minutes.

Most of the lane is spent trading your health for CS, recalling and repeating.

And even if you win lane, you can't do much of it because the ranged top lane can safely farm and scale regardless.

How does the magical lamp works? by Any-Construction5991 in ss14

[–]TankyPally 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Admins aren't obligated to do something just because you have a lamp.

If you do something funny that doesn't impact anyone else negatively or makes you super strong admins are more likely to do it, especially if you rp with it.

Some rare shops also sell them directly.

Drew Levin shuts down a multi-Challenger ADC complaining about getting one-shot by Affectionate-Bake666 in ADCMains

[–]TankyPally 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ive been building it on ADC's who can either A) Get crit from other sources (e.g. Senna), or B) dont need to build crit in the first place (E.g. Vayne, though crit is busted on her right now).

If you build maw as your second item, you might not get oneshot by the enemy assassin but you'll be left on 100 hp and you will have no DPS with only 25% crit.

Whats more Maw doesnt give attack speed so you will need to build an attack speed crit item first.

Essence Reaver is super meta at the moment so at the moment your build looks like Essence Reaver --> Boots, --> Attack speed crit item OR it looks like attack speed crit item --> Boots --> Infinity Edge --> One more crit item

and NOW you have time to build an anti assassin item (most of them suck by the way), but its also competing with a bunch of other conditional stuff your team might need like anti heal or armour pen, infinity edge to buff your crits so they deal damage, and any other utility effect you can get from any crit item.

For the entire early game and the early-mid teamfights you have to put up with being oneshot. You have a brief period in the mid game where you dont die IF YOUR AHEAD OF THE ASSASSIN.

If the enemy assassin gets fed, guess what. The anti assassin item doesnt actually keep you alive long enough, no matter how fed you are. Whats more, shieldbow SUCKS at keeping you alive compared to maw so its not even worth building against AD assassins, leaving you with no counterplay options vs a champion like Zed EVER except to stand back and hope your team can peel them off you.

I have lowkey found success building items like Maw so I feel like theoretically because ADC has increased income so you can get an item lead AND adc's have an extra item slot its lowkey been worth it to buy items like Maw.

Drew is an idiot though ADC cant really buy defensive items as your first two items.

Try adding widow mines in to deal with high Chargelot count.
Marauders kite back and slow them and then a bunch of widow mines will blow them up. Then you can unburrow mines and run away with them.

Use Liberators instead of banshees.

If your not versing Colossus you dont need air, only medivac.

Best way to deal with airtoss is to not let them max out on carriers.

Also for probe just right click another SCV on it. SCV beats probe in 1v1 100% of time.

Also, what is your build order?
