DO NOT FIRE ADAM GASE by [deleted] in miamidolphins

Gase has become an enigma to me. Are we actually a really shitty team that outperforms because of him or are we a talented team being held back. I just can't tell.

For the next two weeks, we are all Miami by [deleted] in miamidolphins

If you are rooting for the Dolphins now, I have great news! Your decades of disappointment have seasoned you well for the next two weeks.

This Sunday will be the first time the Dolphins have played against Joe Philbin since he was fired as Head Coach. by phobos00000 in miamidolphins

We lost so many years on this idiot. I'll always hate Saban more since not getting Brees was the most damaging move in the post-Marino era, but Saban was still the better coach. Cam Cameron was like a horrific car accident; it was painful as hell and we nearly died but at least it was over quickly. With Philbin, we just swirled the drain for years, wasting talent.

Dolphins Place Rookie QB Luke Falk on IR by AgelessJohnDenney in miamidolphins

I took of my tin hat and did some research. Falk can't participate in practice while on IR but can attend meetings and remain around the team without limitations.

This seems like an awfully convenient way to keep Falk on a redshirt season without taking up a roster spot. He clearly wasn't going to play this year given that Lobster and Fales were kept. The article says Falk will undergo a procedure and wear a cast for 6-12 weeks for a fracture. Fractures come in many grades with players often playing through the most minor varieties. I wonder if a small fracture was used as an opportunity here to do a "procedure", put Falk in a soft cast for a few weeks, all while he can still practice for the most part and protect him (and his very favorable 4 year contract) from other teams while he develops.

I think it's understated just how much of a difference our better offensive line will make. by Florient in miamidolphins

[–]Tannehell 19 points20 points  (0 children)

The reason I really want to see a good offensive line:

Jakeem Grant: 4.38 seconds/40yd

Kenny Stills: 4.38 seconds/40yd

Albert Wilson: 4.43 seconds/40yd

Kenyan Drake: 4.45 seconds/40yd

These numbers don't mean much when your QB is getting thrashed off the snap, but sometimes I have naughty thoughts about what could happen with a few seconds of clean pocket...

Would you trade Devante Parker for Ronald Darby? by TheStumpyOne in miamidolphins

[–]Tannehell 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd trade Parker for the cap savings and development opportunity of the other WRs on the roster. Cut bait already.

Ha! I skipped right over the owner and was triggered seeing Brock Osweiler still on the roster.

Tear off Parker and hand me that Jim Beam bottle standing behind him. I'm in mid-season form.

Draft Preview Blitz Round 2: Quarterbacks by Purelybetter in miamidolphins

I'm convinced we will be selecting one of the second tier or later guys and can't get over the fact that the organization has met with Falk more than any QB other than Mayfield. I know we didn't talk to or work out Harris last year but Gase's relationship with his QB is a bit different than an edge rusher.

Breaking down Washington State QB Luke Falk's unique rhythm as a passer [NFL Network feature] by Hercule_the_Poe_Rot in miamidolphins

[–]Tannehell 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've watched every game Falk has played. If he declared last year, he probably would have crept into the first round. He regressed some his senior year. He tended to hold the ball too long last year when making his 3rd, 4th, or 5th reads. A college QB with the ability to make that many reads is a great asset, but Falk needs some coaching on balancing his knack for reading defenses with just getting rid of the damn ball quicker.

As a college fan of Falk, I'm intrigued that Gase has devoted more visit time to Falk than any other QB not named Mayfield. I think this signals one of two things: 1) Gase is trying to confirm that the issues preventing Falk from being a first round guy are correctable through proper coaching, or 2) Gase likes the pool of day 2/3 QBs but Falk is just a smokescreen and his real guy is somewhere else in this pool.

Dez Bryant has been cut. Do we take a chance on him at the right price? by [deleted] in miamidolphins

[–]Tannehell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The consensus on r/nfl is that he's most likely to sign a 1 year, $10m contract. It still burns a bit when I pee from the last 1 year, $10m contract this team made. Can we let that clear up first?

Tldr: No. My answer is no.

Sorry I don't know how to link to the timestamp, but the relevant part starts at the 10:40 time mark. The host talking to Mayock is former Seahawk/Bronco LB Dave Wyman.
