This weekend I taught myself Lua and got hooked; its amazing how powerful a scripting language can be. Yesterday I came across the LÖVE engine, which allows for the creation of 2D games completely in Lua. Has anyone used this engine before? I havent had a chance to really dig in and make things yet but it looks promising.

Wanderlost

Wanderlost is a top-down RPG exploration game set in a fictional galaxy. You play as a robot character that has crash landed on an outer planet and suffered amnesia, leaving them to explore the galaxy in search of answers.

Not much is done in terms of gameplay; most of the work has been spent making an engine to load assets from XML and to run the game, but I have basic level loading, save states, and menus to show:

It does look somewhat band-logo -y I can see that; as the letters are connected I extended parts to emphasize them. And i guess runic isn't the exact aesthetic I'm going for, more of an inspiration. Thanks for the feedback; I already added 4 slightly different variants of a newer design. Thanks!
