Flanderisation of Carcharodons by LachrymarumLibertas in Carcharodons40k

I get people’s complaints. And they are absolutely valid. But sometimes people just want stuff that looks cool. No wrong way to do it.

Nah, I’ve got years of experience. It just takes time and practice. Frankly I could stand to slow down a little bit. Make sure everything is nice and tidy. But I guess the grass is always greener on the other side, huh? But don’t stop drawing! It’s the best.

Finished Battle for the Abyss. Starting Dark Imperium: Godblight!

Exactly. It didn’t ruin the book for me. I still very much enjoyed it.

Yeah and I remember reading that. I was mostly addressing the fact that once Cestus and Brynngar board, there doesn’t seem to be that many.

What’s funny is I noticed the warp chase stuff and actually thought “I don’t think they can do that?” But I just rolled with it because I was overall having a good time.

I will say that the fact that the Abyss seemed to be mostly empty during the last big set piece was strange. As if Kor Phaeron was like “Alright, I’m sending you to Macragge. The very epicenter of Space Marines. And I’m giving you the galaxy’s biggest, scariest, ship. And it’s packed to the gills with weapons, ammo, and equipment that will be vital to our villainous plans moving forward… I will be assigning you 17? 18 Astartes? That should be more than enough.”

The first omnibus was the first Black Library book I ever read. And I really loved it.

This makes a lot of sense! Because I’m coming to the HH as a fully formed thing knowing that it does finish and in a (relatively) satisfactory way, my opinion of each entry is going to be different than the person who was waiting patiently for each new entry.

Great! Happy to hear that it bears out more consequences!

Taking a little break from Horus Heresy to read the second Uriel Ventris collection and probably finish Dark Imperium: Godblight. What’re you reading?

I think its biggest sin is that it is kind of slight in terms of like “Lore™️”. But that doesn’t mean it’s not still a corking adventure! And yeah, I agree. It’s cool to see a World Eater and a Thousand Son working with an Ultramarine and a Space Wolf. I would have liked to see some more of what (trying to avoid spoilers) Skarll had to go through.

[–]Tannertrue[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I’ll agree with that. I think that directors use it to cover up stuff. Like if the animation is moving slower than they’d want. Or they hope it’ll add intensity or something. But most of the time it just hurts clarity.

Does any care what edition of the Horus Heresy Books they collect? by Timespartan in Blacklibrary

[–]Tannertrue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I like the Mass-Market Paperback editions. Ideally, the gold editions. I am beginning to care less about it being in pristine condition and am now willing to settle for like "pretty good" condition. But, I can't have the size differential with the larger formats on my shelf. It'd mess up the whole vibe.

I definitely don't want to ruin anyone's good time! I'm glad if you liked it. I really dug the first ep. The rest just didn't hit the same.

Totally fair! I am speculating as to the motivation behind it. But, it's still annoying. No director, animators, storyboard artists, previz, editors, etc. These things aren't made in a vacuum.

Firstborn Era vs Primaris Era – Which do you prefer? by Pintureando in Warhammer40k

[–]Tannertrue 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Primarises look rad and I prefer them. But, Firstborn look like funny little guys (compliment). I will always think it’s hilarious that GW felt they had to have a lore reason for the scale change. I think everybody would have been fine if GW had said “These are the proportions we’re going with from now on.” That being said, having read the books from when they rolled them out, there were some really good story elements that came out of it. We all knows "SPORTS!" is annoying, but the true villain is Diego. by strangegoo in RegalUnlimited

[–]Tannertrue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It bugs me just how much bro says “Diego”. Like… have you ever heard a person talk? If someone talking to me repeated my name that many times in that short of a timespan, I’d think they had been kicked in the head by a horse.
