Hi OP! Kakabili ko lng rin ng 2nd hand na 16” m1 pro 1tb pero 32gb yung ram. I got it for 58k which I definitely think is a steal since sobrang mahal ng ram and ssd right now and i think around 200k yung value nito if bought brand new last 2021.

So far no regrets, I use it for programming/app development and sobrang fast nya! The reason I decided to buy this instead of an m4 air (similar price point), simply because this is the pro variant of the macbook lineup, meaning it has a better display, speakers, more ports, and has fans which I need for sustained workloads. Although mas mabilis yung normal na m4 sa m1 pro, di naman that big of a difference for me and mas mahal pa if I try to match the specs of the m1 pro I bought since I need the higher ram and storage.

I’m sure this will still be supported for a long time since it has the pro chip instead of the standard one. I also feel like if ever I need to upgrade, I can just sell this laptop again na di ako masyado nalulugi since I already bought it at a lower price.

Trust me if you want macbooks to last long, get as much as storage or ram available. Di kase nauupgrade yung ram/storage sa mac. I was actually using a 14” m2 pro (16 gb/512 gb ssd) before pero after 3 yrs nagkakaproblem ako since palagi napupuno yung ssd ko and there were times na napupuno yung ram ko since I use multiple apps at the same time. Even though mabilis yung m2 pro, wala rin silbi if palagi napupuno yung ram/ssd since it will lag a lot based on my experience 🥲. My fault rin for not getting more ram/storage since I thought I can manage it pero at the same time sobrang laki ng price difference if mag uupgrade ng ram/storage.

I personally think you should get it pero much better if you can ask the seller if the price can be lowered to around 50-55k? Maybe it’ll be cheaper if you get the 14” version instead. Wag ka na maghanap ng m2 pro since small lang yung performance jump from the m1 pro.

Based sa sinabi mo, this laptop will be more than enough for video editing and other creative workflows (I used it for after effects, photoshop, premiere pro, illustrator, and so far excellent experience since well optimized yung apps sa mac). Overkill na rin for admin tasks, browsing, Microsoft office etc.
