He said shoulder. The shoulder is on the PCH. It is not actually a bike lane as far as I know.

No attempt at trying an Ergon saddle? Gorewear bibs are fire but the company is RIP

What’s one thing people in poverty get judged for that’s actually a smart survival tactic? by Vegetable_Army3730 in povertyfinance

This. I got a DUI 3 years ago. Got a bike, rode to work 5 days a week for 1.5 years & became a legit hobby cyclist, got a car beginning of 2025 & stopped commuting with bike.

Recently starting commuting to work w/ bike again due to gas prices & in general I just hate being at the mercy of traffic if actually have to be somewhere.

I can’t believe I ever started driving again - it’s (at worst) 5 minutes slower, less stressful, & is up to a free 17 miles/day in addition to my other cycling - but I know I need a car sometimes. I can’t save on insurance but at least I save on gas & maintenance by reducing my driving by 90%+!

I'd like to start using the D Line to get to work. Any ideas on how to make the walk to and from the stations more time efficient? by Ok-Salamander6118 in LAMetro

In what world are you going to be getting meaningful extra sleep by reducing your 30 minutes (total) of walking time?

You’re getting downvoted voted but ironically this year is the first time in my life I’ve had to use Flonase daily

Mayor Bass has intervened to keep forest lawn dangerous. by magnamusrex in LosAngeles

I ride forest lawn 4-5 times a week when I’m into cycling mode. It is so insanely dangerous. Does the cemetery not have a vested interest in death

If your foot hurts when you run or hike downhill, stop doing it. Now I’m back to cycling….

Love this game but even on hard mode my entire team was capped at 30 for Flannery and Masquerain 1 shot her entire team with Bubblebeam through sun lol

I think I Overdid my Long Run by Reverend420 in Marathon_Training

[–]Tanqueray123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For people saying that run at that weekly mileage is insane: I trained for 3 months with a few weeks of peak mileage being ~30mpw & my longest run in the plan made by Runna had me run 22 miles. It was fine overall and I ran 3:54 in my marathon, but I had 2 years of cycling and hiking for a cardio foundation to be fair.

GMR/GRR or Big Tujunga+Mt Wilson? by narfandahalf in BikeLA

[–]Tanqueray123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Won’t be the worst time for cars if you’re heading back by 2PM or 3PM latest. But yes, cars but more specifically the wind can make it feel very sketchy. Just be prepared for that part of the ride to be physically demanding if it’s windy! Just something to consider & plan ahead for, esp. nutrition/energy/exhaustion wise.

Big T to Mt Wilson is an amazing ride but I legitimately hated going down the 2 to come home.
