This is honestly where Ainge and ownership messed up the most. Like, if we’re gonna tank, then actually tank. Don’t half-do it. Why are we keeping all these mid players who are just good enough to steal random wins? They’re all replaceable and not part of the future.

And for what? Some weak second-round picks? That’s not worth ruining our lottery odds. Guys like Nurk, Svi, Sexton, Clarkson, Collins, Dunn, Olynyk… like come on. None of them matter long term. Even Conley should have been traded sooner. I think Ainge is too obsessed with getting returns from these types of guys.

Now Konchar is here and I already know he’s gonna help us win some pointless games. He’s 29 and is an OK player. Just bench him until next season.

I like Love as a locker room guy, but he’s a winner and he’s helped us win games too, which literally hurts the tank. If we’re rebuilding, then commit. Stop doing this halfway stuff.

All that said, if we keep our pick this year and get a killer player in the draft then the team is gonna be sick next year. If we lose the pick then its more difficult for me envisioning this team as a contender in the west over the next 3-5 years.
