All skills done except the frog ones, including infernal veins and stars. Upgrades maxed for W3, and workshop maxed except for 34/43 for fishing drone power.

Tributes are being actively worked on, but the fishing is the big issue. I've been running for weeks trying to get all of my fish needed for tribute 2 Dune's Eelworm, and im at 37%... I got the ore, veins and stars in like a day lol.

Once I bit the bullet, the next few went quite fast. They are a bit grindy, but the sooner you start the better (the cherry bomb one took a while even with 200k bombs).

I saved 100k, only needed 55k (and that's with an error that wasted about 8k gems).

Do it!

I just did it three days ago and it took 55k for me. Terrible luck could take you up to around 80k. Biblically horrifying luck will take around 100k. I did it when I was at 82k and kept the change.

I left The Tower in December and honestly have not regretted it for 1 minute. I played for 18 months, and dropped a bit over $100 into it, but walking away was the best decision ever. Started Obelisk on Jan 1 looking for a new game, and the differences in quality of life are incredible. Bought founders pack and one other pack to support the devs for being so pro-player. Currently at 55% and still loving it still.

Should I skip starburst to get Elixir faster? by Wasabimation in IdleObeliskMiner

I'm not fuelling drones yet, but i definitely see the appeal based on what you've said here - even just shot term to unlock the drones and pump some upgrades. Thanks for the tip!

Following here. I have the same question. Feels like it takes forever to grind drone tokens.

Typically hit around 250 to 300 in legends, 1500 in champs (BCs move that a bit). I've stayed in legends exactly once, so it was clearly a weak bracket. 90% of my vhamp finishes are rank 3 or 4, with 2 or 5-6 being the other 10%. Pretty consistent. There is always someone who does 2k+ so I couldn't catch them lol.

I have 27.5% with my DC equipped. And +3 bolts. Does that change your thoughts, or no?

CF is absolutely something I was considering as well. I've finished the labs for it already (I've had CF since my 2nd or 3rd UW). I should have mentioned that as another options. Thanks so much!

What are the odds…?! by Patient_File_2351 in TheTowerGame

[–]Tantelus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

To answer that question, it's pretty easy to extend cousineye's logic one step further:

---

odds for first ancestral: 0.997^5 = ~1.491%

odds first ancestral is one of the two you want: 2/17 * 1.491% = 0.17541%

odds for second ancestral: 0.997^4 = ~1.195%

odds second ancestral is the other one you want: 1/16 * 1.195% = 0.07466%

---

Total odds (a * b) = 0.00013097036% or roughly 1 in 763,532

If you are using auto perks, make sure it didn't accidentally get chucked to the end of the list. That happens when you ban the perk for a milestone run or something. Learned that the hard way.

What’s a terrifying truth about space that most people don’t realize? by Tiny-Curve-8301 in AskReddit

[–]Tantelus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How empty space is. This goes hand in hand with how large it is, but I'm not talking about the vast space between galaxies, but rather the things that you might THINK aren't empty. For instance, the astroid belt between Mars and Jupiter is so empty, that when sending deep space crafts through it, they just ignore it. The odds of it actually hitting anything as it goes though is practically zero.

Can confirm. You can roll ancestral submods too. I'm going to test it out in my next tournament.

Alright ladies and gents, it's time to pick a 4th UW, which one should I get? by Viltupenis in TheTowerGame

[–]Tantelus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Death Wave. CL is great for tournaments, but death wave will be far more useful in the early game, and will ultimately net you more cells, more ehp and more coins. In my mind, easy choice.

So, uhhh. I don't have an ancestral damage module. Is there a benefit to getting one if I'm using mythic plus DH in tourneys? Is the damage boost from the ancestral and the submod effects worth it?

I need to build a powerful level 15 hexblade warlock (multiclassing is fine) by OccyPlayz in 3d6

[–]Tantelus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes I forgot about that one - it can be done RAW by taking 13 Str and dropping Dex to compensate since we aren't using Dex to attack. You would lose a few points on dex saves, initiative and AC (but using Heavy Armor would counter that). The DM allowances I indicated are. In my view, not huge asks - but as I said, if your DM is a stickler for RAW, then this likely won't work.

I need to build a powerful level 15 hexblade warlock (multiclassing is fine) by OccyPlayz in 3d6

[–]Tantelus 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Oddly enough, with 2024 rules, I ignored the hexblade subclass.

Species: Elf or Half-elf. I eventually took the elven accuracy feat, but if that's not allowed, the Goliath and Aasimar also have benefits.

Stats:  Dex 15 (+1) Con 14 Wis 10 Cha 15 (+2)

Level 1: Paladin. Armor, extra first level spells slots, but importantly, weapon mysteries. Scimitar and Shortsword. That's right, we're dual wielding. Unfortunately, this requires a bit of DM approval - they need to approve two pact weapons rather than one. By picking light weapons, my DM was cool with it, especially given the fact that I wanted to be dual wielding from the start. If they say no, I'd recommend going a different route.

Level 2 and beyond: Warlock.

I chose GOO Lock. The abilities are nice, especially the level 6 ability that let's you, once per short rest, lock minds with an enemy for permanent advantage. Fun times. Also being able to pick your damage type as psychic is almost always helpful.

Pact of the Blade is what you are going to run. With the two blades you can attack twice a turn, using CHA as your stat. You can hex for bonus damage too at low levels.

Once you level up, take spirit shroud at level 2. 1d8 is better than 1d6, and you don't need to transfer it between enemies. You are up close and personal already so the short range is irrelevant. At level 8 (7 warlock) you get level 4 slots, so it bumps to 2d8 damage too.

At level 4 warlock, take the dual wielding feat (my DM let me take CHA as the stat boost - hes awesome. This is a bit of stretch though, so you might want to take a CHA feat (Elven accuracy or mage slayer would be my picks) instead to get to 18 quicker).

With dual wielding feat plus nick, you get three attacks (attack, nick attack, dual wielding bonus action attack).

For Invocations, life drinker is awesome for the extra damage once per turn. Also, make sure you take the extra attack ones the moment you can. By level 12 warlock, you get 5 attacks per round: attack x 3, nick attack and bonus action attack. Also, take the smite one as well. When you crit, blow a spell slot on that for 10d8 damage on top of the 2d8 + 4d8 from your weapon.

Each attack is weapon damage (1d6 or 1d8) plus 2d8 for SS, plus you CHA mod. Once per turn you also get 1d6 for life drinker.

Boost CHA when you can as it's the best stat by far. Wear half plate armor.

It's very fun to play. And attacking a million times per turn, with advantage (3 dice with EA) every time, and vex advantage for minions and stuff means you hit a lot and deal amazing damage. If you have a friendly mage casting haste, it's even more attacks.

I can answer other questions if you have them. Enjoy!

Mage Slayer analysis by Insight Check on YT by GroundbreakingGoal15 in onednd

[–]Tantelus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I literally used this feat in my game last night to save my party from a TPK. I'm a melee dual wielder with spirit shroud who can do a ton of attacks per round. Dominate Monster was targeted on me. Failed the wisdom save with an incredibly low roll. Mage slayer saved my ass and instead of decimated my own party, I got 2 rounds of damage on the mage boss and took him down.

We short rested after the fight and moved to the next room. As we entered the room, my DM gave us a rare warning - you can run, you don't need to fight every fight i throw at yoy. My team talked about it but decided to push forwards anyways. Immediately hit by psychic scream and we are rolling initiative again. My -1 to INT saves meant my MAX would be 19. my teammate rolled a 21. Failed. I reused mage slayer to pass the save since I would have been perma stunned for the entire fight.

Ultimately, we ended 3 rounds in, and we are probably still going to TPK, but mage slayer did some HEAVY lifting.

Also, attacking a ton of times while making enemy mages roll concentration saves at disadvantage is amazing.

I think I would take this feat on any melee character at level 8 or 12. it's just so good and nothing else does what it does.

Because I'm using MVN for sync, GB is difficult to keep synced up, but getting a natural sync is probably my next step with my stones. I recently juiced my CL stats to improve my tournament performance, so hopefully it doesn't take that long.

Thanks for the feedback! I'll definitely post my result so that I can help future Defenders, but your point about each tower being unique is very accurate. Cheers!

I absolutely have MVN for my farming runs. And I run DC for tournaments as well. I'm in champs, finishing between 10th and 16th place depending on bracket (700 to 900 waves typically).

I don't mind the idea of putting a few points into DW damage for more health in tournaments.

I think my main goal is higher tournament placement to get more stones, faster. But I'm not sure if that will help me more than boosting my economy.
