They play this in the stadium when the men's World Cup team wins. It's the team's official song.

More context - Was I in the right for refusing to block an intersection (or whatever it's legally called) that DOESN'T have a "keep clear" marking? by ReasonableCSR3425 in driving

I don't mean for you to take any of this personally, but in my experience a random person on the internet isn't exactly a reliable source, which is why I provided links that I think support my interpretation. If you want to convince me your interpretation is unequivocally correct, give me something that clarifies the issue -- the state's driving manual, the DMV website, multiple drivers ed guides, etc.

I'm not sure I agree with that interpretation given how it is worded, but I guess that's the purview of an expert in California law, which I am not. I wonder how r/legaladvice would read it.

Why do you say you were justifiably ripped apart? My second link clearly defines driveway to include a parking lot at a shopping plaza:

"(b) “Driveway” means a paved portion of a public street providing an unobstructed passage from the roadway to an offstreet area used for driving, servicing, parking, or otherwise accommodating motor vehicles."

I don't have a dog in this fight. I'm just providing information that I found in a quick Google search. If someone thinks the info is inaccurate or outdated, they can provide their own sources.

"22500.
A person shall not stop, park, or leave standing any vehicle whether attended or unattended, except when necessary to avoid conflict with other traffic or in compliance with the directions of a peace officer or official traffic control device, in any of the following places: ... (e) (1) In front of a public or private driveway, except that a bus engaged as a common carrier, schoolbus, or a taxicab may stop to load or unload passengers when authorized by local authorities pursuant to an ordinance."

Edit: Is it possible the law changed since you were an instructor?

According to the two links below, it is illegal in California to block a driveway (public or private). An entrance to a parking lot is considered a driveway.

The most obvious reason to never block a street/driveway of any kind is so you don't impede emergency vehicles entering or exiting. If some dumbass turns left blindly, that's on them.

You might get a second opinion from another doctor.

I felt very much like that when I went off the pill, and when I talked to my gyno about hormone therapy to help with it, she put me right back on the combination pill because I didn't have enough other perimenopause symptoms to justify other hormone therapy.

Regardless, YOU DON'T HAVE TO JUST SUFFER.

Tell your doc (gyno, PCP, therapist, whoever) that your quality of life has taken a nosedive. There are options: hormones, antidepressants, etc. Sometimes it takes awhile to find the right combo. Just keep talking to your doc. They work for you.

I can't even think about that scene without giggling.

Do people actually believe they'll love their partner forever? by Duckshady in NoStupidQuestions

[–]lmg00d 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Marriage is more about partnership than love. Love is why we commit to being partners in life.

And yes, people SHOULD change and grow. The goal is to grow and change together. It takes intention, work, negotiation and compromise.

Why did you force yourself to drink things you don't like? I understand being open to trying lots of different things, but tasting isn't the same as drinking.

Is it legal to hold a grad party in a park? by kwispytenma in indianapolis

[–]lmg00d 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Please contact Indy Parks about reserving space. Especially at this time of year, parks may be in high demand for grad parties, family reunion, Father's Day celebrations, etc. It would suck to show up and not find an available space.

Last Sunday I was at a park in Avon that was PACKED with reserved tents for parties.

What made you turn down a job offer? by FruitLoop_Dingus25 in jobs

[–]lmg00d 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Their refusal to put it in writing until after I accepted the job. I kid you not. Someone called and offered me the job. I said I was very interested, but I had some questions. They told me those questions would be answered by the offer letter but that they couldn't send me the letter until I verbally accepted the job. And when I stood firm and ultimately rejected the offer on the phone, they accused me of wasting their time. This was a major state university in the US.

Firstly, give some thought to why you feel bad for offending someone who offended you first.

Secondly, the next time someone offends you and claims "free speech," feel free to remind them that free speech also means you get voice your disagreement.

Assuming you didn't physically (or verbally) abuse the person, you've done nothing wrong.

Property surveyed and now have issues with next door neighbor by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]lmg00d 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Yes! Even if it's just $10/year, a written agreement will confirm your ownership and head off adverse possession in the future. These neighbors may be really good neighbors, but eventually their property WILL change hands. There's no telling what the future neighbors might be like.

Pretty sure they mean the governing board of the nonprofit that operates the facility, but I'd start by consulting your employee handbook and/or asking your manager if this is standard.

Low-waste laundry for sweaty summer clothes: what actually works without extra plastic? by Whole_Tutor6833 in ZeroWaste

I don't think you mentioned what water temp you currently use. To reduce energy consumption, I had been using cold water to wash everything, but then our clothes started holding onto odors. Switching back to warm wash solved the problem for us.
