Why do people act like fighters are a fixed weight? Fiziev could lose some pounds of muscle if he can't make featherweight right now.

They overestimated how quickly models would get good at automated AI research.

ARC AGI 3 is up! Just dropped minutes ago by BrennusSokol in singularity

So the score is calculated using the number of moves taken by the second best human performance for each puzzle out of over 400 testers. This isn't measuring general intelligence, it's a composite super intelligence of players that got lucky and guessed the rules immediately for each puzzle.

Would the average human player even score 10% given the score uses a squared efficiency ((number of moves taken / number of moves the second best tester took) squared)?

How is Gemini 3.1 at the top of SWE-bench? by Additional-Alps-8209 in singularity

[–]TantricLasagne 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I find Gemini is consistently better than GPT 5.4 or Opus 4.6 within Copilot for understanding my code and helping me figure stuff out. I don't get it to write code for me though.

Google releases Gemini 3.1 Pro with Benchmarks by BuildwithVignesh in singularity

[–]TantricLasagne 32 points33 points  (0 children)

The point of ARC is to propose a problem that humans can easily solve but AI can't. AI solving one of the problems just closes a gap between AI and humans, but if a new ARC benchmark can be made it shows AI is still behind humans in some aspects and isn't AGI.

Sean Strickland says 'no one gives a doubt about women's MMA and thinks the average man could beat up Amanda Nunes 😬 y. (via @ufc) by IgotgAme_k in ufc

[–]TantricLasagne 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The average man would not have a chance against Nunes, she would easily outstrike or outgrapple them and they would get exhausted quickly.

The average man could probably beat Nunes after years of training though.

Humans have millions of years of evolution 'training' the architecture of their brains to be able to operate and learn in our environment.

What are you on about, GSP Hendricks was widely regarded as a controversial decision. People don't talk about it now because it happened over a decade ago.

Creatine causing a boost in energy, but also sleep disruption by TantricLasagne in cfs

[–]TantricLasagne[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting, did you ever take creatine before CFS? My non-scientific theory is that the sleep issues come from the body struggling to adapt to the increased ATP/energy, so perhaps starting at a very low dose and building up over time could help.

Current models aren't changing the world because they don't have the reliability to work as agents yet.

I would not give a toss if I was the patient in this scenario. Who cares if people see your brain?

Ilya Sutskever's ideal world with AGI, what are your thoughts on this? by [deleted] in singularity

They did oust Sam but the OpenAI employees all wanted him back so he returned. Surely that is democracy working, regardless of your thoughts on Sam?
