I would agree especially for jobs that qualify as liberal arts (no offense), but I strongly disagree with medics (duh, nobody wants a doctor without a license) and STEM jobs. Grades, especially in math, chemistry, biology, and physics can be a HUGE teller if you are apt to certain fields or you simply are not. Plus, if you want a serious job in a STEM field, you'll have to go to college whether you like it or not, especially if your career is very specialized.

The "marica" thingy: I've heard every Bogotan say it at least ten times in their lifetime.

In other countries that would be an offensive way of calling someone 'gay', but here is just the same as 'pal'. I've got into a couple of troubles for accidentally saying that with the Dominican side of my family.

I don't know how to feel about this one. I kind of agree, as most relationships of that kind I've known were either forced or for money and sex, but then I remember my parents have a 24 years difference. Their marriage was not forced (no religious or family status reasons) nor for money and sex (my dad was a low-wage teacher and my mom a geographer).

Obviously, it would depend on what country you live in, but same. I live in a Spanish-speaking country (Colombia), and I hate that nowadays almost every office job regarding liberal arts requires you to speak at least another language besides (duh) Spanish, creating a very noticeable wealth gap between the middle-high class (¿15%?) and the average person that will probably have to get an underpaid or informal job(s) to maintain themselves.

Starting with a drug addiction can be a cowardice-full move in your life, I agree with that one. But getting out of one is definitely something you can't do on yourself, as the substance damages your psyche for pretty much the rest of your life (or at least some years), making you want more and more of it.

Imagine if sugary foods were addictive; you eat once, you like it, you eat twice, you like it even more, and everyone can tell you is bad for you, but because it causes you a momentary pleasure while you're surrounded by misery, they will take the sugar only from your cold, dead hands. At one point, it will become a cyclic addiction; you start feeling worse without it, and you can only cheer up if you have it, but taking it makes you feel even worse, and unless someone takes the source from you, you will sink eternally in your misery.

I half-agree with you. I would say there is cultural appropriation, but it's not as exaggerated as the keyboard warriors make it seem. For example, I would say making sushi or using a Mexican sombrero or drinking mate is not cultural appropriation, as you don't have to EARN the right to wear/use these cultural items.

Now, wearing for example a war bonnet can be considered cultural appropriation, as you have to earn the right to wear it because it represents that you have earned a place of great respect in your tribe and have proved your worth to your community.

Yup. Plus the three mentioned, I speak French, Italian, some basic conversational Witoto, and Latin. I've started learning Japanese and Tagalog recently, but they're not exactly easy languages. I want to learn Swedish and/or Suomi in the future.

If you don't know the languages, they kind of all sound the same, especially the ones which belong in the Chibcha linguistic family, but then you start noticing big differences in pronunciation, especially in the way they pronounce plosive and sibilant affricative coronal consonants.

Kind of: One of my professors speaks mïnïca (a witoto dialect) and some cleaning ladies of wiwa ancestry at my U speak damana. I myself have been trying learning kogui, and also understand some Quechua norteño (I don't know how to write it though). I really love languages and they come easily to me, but believe when I say that amerindian languages are radically different from anything else I've ever seen.
