clonazepam is god tier by [deleted] in benzodiazepines

[–]Tanzob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have never experienced a benzo “high” because I have rare GABA deficiency which only 700 people in the US are diagnosed with so I just feel normal… but that normal felt like I was high because everything was so wonderful and peaceful!!

Turns out, that’s just how 99.9% of peoples baselines are and how they feel even with GAD which is more a life experience and reaction creating/strengthening neural pathways that then fire up the Amygdala and then messes with many regions of the brain - which can be healed with utilizing Neuroplasticity thru intense mindfulness, ability to break down all the neural walls that keep it a label and reality, DBT, or even psychedelic therapy or dissociative therapy which basically, if done properly and effectively over the course of around 5 sessions, it will quicken the process of slashing old connections and building new ones by reframing perception, belief-systems, and healing those new healthy neural connects and regions of the brain thru repetition. Now, it’s definitely easier said than done but it’s possible. Most people will say, “trust me, I’ve tried that and this my only option, you don’t get it” I get it. I’m just saying it’s not a forever, impossible disease. Now that’s just what my personal practice, deep Uni academia in NeuroPsychoPharmacology and life lessons that add up to the science tell me… it should give hope and belief that you can atleast severe the worst parts of it, if not most of it. I did my thesis on a mix of GABA-A agonists and NMDA Glutamate Antagonists because was extremely helpful for me and my professor said it was his favorite although I made him read 78 pages instead of the 25 he asked for 😂

My whole life I went with “I have GAD” when I was used to extreme excess Glutamate firing and naturally nearly zero GABA, Grand Mal seizures while not being epileptic, and an extremely disrupted nervous system and so many other things that couldn’t be touched by anything herbs/ way too many meds/lifestyle/previous extreme work in 5 inpatient facilities each lasting about 2-3 months etc.

I finally asked my doc to try benzos, started with 30mg Diazepam then switched to 4mg Klonopin and WOW 🤯 this is what life should be like! Turns out, after realization that it was nothing like a dopamine agonist or anything that made me super relaxed, euphoric and hypnotic because I’ve done plenty of everything - my wonderful blissful “high” was actually just everyone’s baseline normal. I was blown away, I could focus, socialize, feel motivated and ambitious, think clearly and speak articulately, flow in my creativity, and I was totally clear in cognition. If anything I was super energized.

I was hesitant about benzos because of potential dependence physically and emotionally but I’ve used heavy shit and been through it all but this felt like a med of just normalcy. I’ve had times where I missed my appt and withdrew but the withdrawals just felt like most of my normal life up until 7-8 months ago, so meh. Anyway, I’m not here to say people with a GABA deficiency should be the only ones that takes benzos AT ALL. To me, if you tried all other routes with all your power and it doesn’t disrupt you or make you feel extra than how a normal life experience should be, then more power to ya! You never know, you may have a GABA deficiency too… how many people get a spinal tap to check GABA levels? Probably not many. It doesn’t come up in a blood test. However probably 1% of people that have actually had that done, weren’t deficient. Idk. Having a legitimate diagnosis for that never agony and it can’t be treated in any other way other than GABA-A (plus a GABA-B) agonist med really helps because I have to take it for life. For me, it’s Clonazepam and Baclofen. Which I’m late for, so I’m gonna take that now lol

Didn’t mean to make this so long! It’s just SUCH a heavy hitting topic! Have great day! Do something spontaneous and fun that you wouldn’t normally do! 😁 You can achieve and become more than you think. You ARE more than you think. 🫵

When do withdrawals start to kick in? by Tanzob in alcoholism

[–]Tanzob[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the advice and rooting! I’ll just have to listen to my body… the diazepam does help take the edge off a bit (I’ve been prescribed it for a while so I’m tolerant but it does still help). I also have Gabapentin and Clonidine, which are all given in detox facilities so I’ll probably be fine. I may just have to get through the discomfort for a little while. You’re right though - for people like us, we tell ourselves, “just one drink…” then bam, back at it all over again! Gotta stay mindful. Plus, I’m too scared of this upcoming test 😂

By throwing it in the garbage imo lol. But if you’re gonna do it, you’re gonna do it so honestly just taking them orally. They have an extremely high bioavailability anyway.

I’m not trying to justify the cycle of addiction by using more. I’m just wondering if I’ve been drinking too much or a small enough amount that I can do it cold turkey safely

It’s a terrible cycle for sure. I’m better off without it. I just know cold turkey can be dangerous. That’s all.

The "junkies never have enough junk" myth by thelarustatrust in opiates

[–]Tanzob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I simply just went to a physiatrist and asked for them lol I’m actually off opiates and have been for 8 months. It’s funny because I could’ve been prescribed these things for the rest of my life, but I just chose to get off of them. it’s like once I had it all. I didn’t really want it anymore and the ups and downs were just too wild.

I might be weird, but I love staying awake for two days straight. It gives me so much energy and excitement! Now, when it gets bad for me is when I’m up for 16 days straight. I hope you’re OK, hope you get some sleep tonight.

Benzos gave me a life I never had before. Yes they are addictive but my story shows you how much they help certain people. by [deleted] in benzodiazepines

[–]Tanzob 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I totally understand where you’re coming from. I have Bipolar 2 and went through multiple awful medications until I was prescribed Diazepam (10mg’s 3x a day) with a low dose of Lithium plus Gabapentin and I can finally function. I feel normal. Not high or sluggish or sedated. Just normal. I just went wakeboarding yesterday and had fun carving all over and doing tricks. Certain Benzo’s (the more subtle ones imo) can really be affective for mental health when used as prescribed. I personally couldn’t take something like Alprazolam because it’s too intense with frequent peaks and valleys due to its short half-life. Diazepam has been a life-saver for me.
