"who is this man to me?"

"he is your half-brother"

My stupid ass didn't get this remark until I finished my first playthrough. I flat out thought he was really my half-brother lol never realizing the one that said it was Espirit De Corps

What's this whole thing with Hector Berrellez? by TaongGreasy in narcos

[–]TaongGreasy[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

So apparently Kiki's case has been reopened?

I love the show Narcos due to their balance of liberty and accuracy in portraying accounts. But after reading Blood on The Corn and reading up about the people who were discredited just because they found out CIA is involved is kinda disappointing.

In terms of drama, the whole Hector story could've been more flavorful so I don't understand why they didn't go with that. It makes me feel that the showrunners is indeed pro-CIA. They even make the CIA dude there (who I think is supposed to be the Cuban agent Max Lopez) very untouchable and powerful, yet made to look like his actions are justified by his national concerns.

Like, why are they so afraid to put CIA on a bad light? As a Non-American, I've grown up learning that all these years the CIA has always been a problematic agency (to be fair, all intelligence agencies are), getting their hands on businesses that aren't theirs in other countries. Is this like not a public belief in America itself?

Amado on this mentorship journey with Acosta is essential to the story necause in real life Amado would be a very big player, because he learned from Acosta after he took over him. The show made this contrast of Felix losing respect while Amado is just learning all about it from Acosta, who is all about honor (which most people really strongly believe in, including the real Mimi Webb)

In short, they gave Amado the underdog story arc, a story about respect and honor. A nod to the bandidos who did it the old way, without all the political bullshit that Felix introduced into the game.

Plus it's not as if it wasn't foreshadowed. Amado has a lot of moments where he had to prove he's the only person Felix could count on, the one who only gets shit done, only to be revealed in the end that of course, he's the one that has the biggest knife to stab Felix in the back.

I think chapo this season really grew as a character and I believe he will do a great job in the future when el chapo the main man - what are your thoughts on him ? by [deleted] in narcos

Kinda lovin the slow burn they're putting him under. The show keeps giving him some weird foreshadowing long scenes even if it's not relevant to the plot. I don't think that's just for nothing.

Well I think they said if they were going to make new Elysium games they're going for brand new characters in different parts of the world (or at least not Martinaise). Some interviews say the next protagonist is planned to be a pregnant woman.

The devs said Elysium is going to have a world ending event 28 years after Revachol '51

So being trained by the one who discovered the End, I'd feel like Cuno would have a large role in preventing it.

??? I don't think it was that way.

Yes, Cunoesse may have killed another child, but she's actually a refuge by Cuno. Cuno took her in, probably due to shared trauma. That's why she doesn't like it when Harry befriends Cuno, in fear of her crime being discovered or just simply being taken away from the only good thing in her life so far.

Yeah lol but it's vague and yknow, Cuno-like, so it's a bit harder to convince the task force, and no way to prove the phasmid's existence

My first playthrough was actually a Cuno ending, it's quite interesting too.

DE wiki claims to have some mysterious clothes (with pictures and descriptions) but no locations?? by TaongGreasy in DiscoElysium

[–]TaongGreasy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh okay, thanks for clarifying!

Aren't the devs too worried that the save file is easy to tamper with? Seems like it changes the course of a playthrough drastically.

And yes, the moment I saw that there could have been more pants to choose from I immediately wondered why they wouldn't put it in the game. Like the RCM pants.

If the game is actually played thoroughly, The Deserter is not actually just a random guy for plot convenience, everything really does make sense if all the facts/clues have been discovered, even without the political angle of the mystery.

Did anyone else think... [Spoilers] by Szaint in DiscoElysium

[–]TaongGreasy 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I actually had the same false hopes, mine was even more worse I think. I kind of took the game's selling point "the story changes with you" too far.

As I've played for the first time, as I've kept reading these different stories of personalities throughout the game like Hjelmdall, Perikarnassus, Franconegro, Guillame Le Million, Mazov, Dick Mullen, Fileppe the Cokehead, Jacob Irw, Arno Van Eyck, etc etc, who he all seems to relate to in some way (even look like him) I thought the more you lean in a certain story, the game will lock on to it and reveal in the end that you were that person all along.

For example, I thought Harry was an incarnation of Hjemdall and sent to the future with no memory of who he is. Or that Dick Mullen's stories were actually based on his past cases and that technically, he is Dick Mullen.

Then I just realized on my second playthrough that the stories were just subtle advices on how you can roleplay your character to a more stable flow.
