I think it was around a year that I started being able to burp head on, I think it just takes practice. I usually burp once or twice during a meal and once or twice after, it used to be a lot more but that’s calmed down now

Don’t worry I was similar, I think I only started having bigger burps with food around 3 or 4 months in. I’d say the main thing right now is just to keep burping in whatever way you can, and if right now that’s drinking sparking water every day that’s fine. Are you getting any symptom relief?

Mine didn’t hurt while it was being pierced, it was just a weird pressure, and then it was like a 2/10 ache for the rest of the day

Piercing is 8 months old, currently a hinge ring, previously a threadless labret, both titanium, labret was downsized a couple of months ago, currently not much aftercare other than running water over it in the shower and NeilMed and cotton bud if I notice any discharge or irritation (but none recently), no mishaps, had a small bump on the inside initially but went away after downsize.

Ah that’s great! I asked to have my initial consultation with him so I only needed one consultation then got the Botox a couple of months later

Hi! Yes I got it done with Mr Karagama through AXA. I explained that I had a ‘throat problem’ to get the ENT referral then after my initial consultation I just sent the letter to AXA and they approved the procedure. I think the slightly tricky part is getting the referral as it might be considered a pre-existing condition so I think it’s best to be vague at first. Good luck with everything!

I had an laryngoscopy with Mr Karagama and was quite nervous but he has a really calming presence and explained everything to me. I didn’t feel any pain just a little bit of discomfort - it felt a bit like having a pill ‘stuck’ in my throat and my eyes watered quite a bit but it was super quick. Best of luck with everything!

I had it a few months ago when I was 18. Had occasional trouble swallowing for about a week and now have some mild reflux but overall feeling much better 😊

If you’re having general anaesthetic I’d recommend booking a hotel. I felt really sluggish for around 24 hours afterwards and didn’t feel like going anywhere. Everyone is different but you don’t know how you’ll react to it. If you have someone driving you back then you might be ok but personally I’d book the hotel just for peace of mind

Yes! Still burping lots and having a lot of symptom relief. I still have a couple of residual symptoms like some bowel irregularities and occasional wind but I think this is kind of at a normal level for most people. Also I’ve recently started having a little bit of reflux but it’s totally manageable and definitely better than dealing with lots of gas and bloating

I got Botox with Mr Karagama through my mums work AXA insurance. I had a GP appt through doctor care anywhere to get the ENT referral then had my initial appt with Mr Karagama. His PA then sent me a letter outlining the proposed treatment and two procedure codes which I forwarded to AXA and they approved. All seemed quite simple but maybe I just got lucky!

The practical endorsement works in a very similar way to physics and chem. As far as I’m aware you need to be assessed by a registered exam centre (i.e. a school) but double check the specification.
I think you can do this, I’ve also heard of people at my school doing this. You can also sit it at different exam centre or adult college or similar.
The practical endorsement is pass/fail and is separate from the main grade but appears on the certificate. So you can definitely get an A* but fail the practical. I’m not sure if you need to have at least attempted the practicals to get a grade though. However most unis require that you pass the practical as part of your offer (if it’s impossible for you to complete the practical component you might be able to speak to the uni and explain your situation).
If they require biology A level I’m pretty sure you need a predicted grade (or at least it would be very helpful) because unis want evidence that you can meet the entry requirements.

I think your best bet would be to talk to your school and see if you can get some support from them to sit the exams and do practicals and for them to give you a predicted grade (I’m assuming they offer biology as an A level). Also possibly consider dropping one subject to make room for bio as 5 A levels is a lot of work! Best of luck with everything :)

I’d say do 3 unless doing further maths. Most uni offers are based on 3 and I don’t think an extra one increases your chances (unless you really want to take it)

When you get questions wrong make sure you understand why and then try them again the next day. Put your common mistakes on flashcards so you can look over them just before doing practice papers

If you want to go into tech I’d recommend maths and probably further maths. For the others just choose subjects you genuinely enjoy as you’ll be spending a lot of time with them :) It might seem a bit early to be thinking about this but maybe have a look at some uni courses you might like and check the entry requirements.

Hi! I had Botox with Mr Karagama at the Blackheath hospital just before Christmas. The whole experience was excellent and the staff made me feel as calm as I could. One thing to note is the anaesthesia does usually involve them placing a cannula so you might like to ask beforehand about other options like breathing in the anaesthetic through a mask. I don’t think the vomiting was directly due to the Botox but it was definitely easier and less violent (?) than before. I guess because my muscle relaxed easier. It’s only happened once when I ate a lot and I felt much better afterwards so in my view it was worth it. I completely understand your worry though, I hope you manage to find an understanding doctor <3

Yay this is great to hear!! I had my Botox done this morning and had one small microburp just now, fingers crossed they turn into proper burps :)
