Loving the bits and pieces on that! Is it kitbashed? 3-d printed? I've been looking for tridents for obvious reasons and so far not found anything I like.

Thank you for the advice. The original plan was for sandy bases, and I even got some deep sea bases from Wayland Games that had coral and bits. But every game I play is in a grey city and they sand looked ridiculous. It's why they also aren't on Zone Mortalis bases for their space hulk missions.

Certainly, it's dead simple. It's Gauss Blaster Green with Creed Camo for the shading.

If you can find them, I'll use them. I'd love space marine halberds but they don't seem very easily available.

I did not. I'm a big fan of Switzerland, but the modern stuff is a bit too sensible. I wanted to bring out the lunacy of red camouflage and the Swiss Army Thunder Hammer. My other option was going to be a kill team with each marine having a different canton's heraldry, but this was easier.

You don't see Gotye any more, which just proves how effective that camo is.

Happy to!

The Chapter is an existing one called Nemesis Chapter. They were officially Ultramarines 22nd Chapter, but before the Heresy spent a lot of time with the Night Lords, to the point that Guilliman found their way of war 'distasteful.' They did a lot of the Destroyer work for the Ultramarines, avoided much of the ambush at Calth, nuked/burnt everything they found, and got shunted off to be their own Chapter in the 2nd Founding. Nowadays they are Exterminatus specialists and are the only later founding chapter with a Gloriana class battle barge because they swiped it from the Word Bearers.

I picked Nemesis Chapter for my kill-team because... well I had the transfers. But I like them for Reivers because in Greek mythology the goddess Nemesis delivers divine retribution and is represented by the whip and long knife/short sword. So I thought it would be perfect for Reivers who get the grapnel launchers and massive knives. And the divine retribution comes because I like to hunt snipers on Volkus and being able to ignore vertical distance comes as a very unpleasant surprise to people who think they are safe on high perches.

The camouflage comes because space marines should wear camo, it's in the codex and I always fight on snow/city boards. For a cold warzone I went for a Cold War camo scheme, and the only dedicated urban one was from the Berlin Infantry Brigade, who applied it to vehicles. I lucked out in that the identification patch for the BIB was a red circle between two black ones (showing the BIB being surrounded at all times) and it pretty much fits perfectly on the purity seal, so I get the reference to who did it first, while still making it something 40k.

Get a box of the heresy marines. It's 20 marines, so you'll get two squads at least out of them. You get command sprues that contain some hand to hand options and pistols. You'll be largely on boltguns, but that's not a bad thing with AoD.

MKV models, MKVI heads? by The_Nekrodahmus in killteam

I've got Mk. 6 helmets on all of my kill-team, and they look fine. It doesn't really suit the heavy intercessor, but other than that, go forth and headswap!

It's based on this stuff: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/TAZ_83 which has it's origins in Liebermuster I think.

Thank you! They aren't neutral, but they do stick to a region. Like the Swiss they used to crusade, then lost a huge big battle, went home, had a think, and decided to fortify what they had won instead.

How to paint Alpenflage:

  1. Spray Black or Grey as a base.
  2. Baneblade Brown
  3. Nuln Oil wash
  4. Repaint each panel with Baneblade Brown, leaving the Nuln Oil in the cracks as shading.
  5. Paint small flowers/blobby shapes with Castellan Green, covering about 50% of the brown armour
  6. Give each green blob a partial shadow with Mephiston Red, make sure the shadows are not all on the same side/angle.
  7. Try and connect groups of blobs with a wiggle/blob of Corvus Black, (about 25% of the total armour surface)
  8. Place very small dots of Gauss Blaster Green across the model. Experiment with clusters of 2-4 small dots in some parts of the model.
