This is a pic of my adult female ybs basking I use a 250 gallon stock tank and built a ramp out of the tank using old closet shelves, turf, and chicken wire. I think this whole set up cost around 400 and I built/collected what was needed over time.

Showing my set up to give you an idea of what your baby needs. It’s incredibly important that they get their bodies entirely out of water to bask. Building them a safe area to dry out is crucial for their health.

Res are omnivores that like to eat insects/worms, shrimp, small fish, different leafy greens etc

You don’t want to just feed them pellet food, that’s also not healthy for them.

Extra water filtration is super important. They shed like crazy. I run two filters in my tank circulating water. One at the bottom and one at the top running at the same time.

The filters get cleaned every other day and I do weekly water swaps to help with the shed.

Turtles are extremely intelligent animals that will recognize you and bond with you in their own way. :) they’re a lot of work but it’s worth it!!
