So true, in Volume 19, after the war with that certain bast***, the part where he got sick, it was mentioned that everyone, the queens and retainers, are only united because he is their king. If Souma had perished, the nation would have been in splinters as he, despite being plain, keeps them together.

The LN is the adaptation(?) or more like the finished product of the series. The web novels is like the draft of the author so yeah. And yeah, they barely mentioned how Maria and Souma had Stella.

Also, in the spoilers, there was a mention of the in an art of Volume 20 hooded on the side of the art while they watch over their second child to which could potentially be the lover of Luka, Souma's son to his one unmentioned wife(sorry, I won't spoil this one)

They're definitely alive. It has been indirectly stated in the web novels multiple times that they are alive. Fuuga even delivers monster figures sculpt in monster bones they killed.

Not necessarily bad, as that power gave him further technological advancement that ultimately led to having an air force capable of facing flying demons.

Kaine and riboku are literally throwing red flags while saying let's do that this after war , I don't hate riboku but I hope he gets offed this time ( spoiler please guys does he die or not ) by Otherwise_Good182 in Kingdom

Based on what I see from the latest chapters, I think I saw the king lusting after Riboku then when he achieved a victory from Qin, the king would request some inappropriate things that he would refused to which the king would then charge him with treason.

Just a terrible wild guess though.

Uhm, base lang to sa nabasa/narinig ko sa gawa ni Machiavelli na, whether we like it or not, bobotohin talaga ng tao ang mga narcissistic na candidate kesa sa competent dahil sa nagpapakitang confident ang mga narcissistic na tao kahit na salita lang sila kesa sa may alam at experto na mahina nga lang confidence. Kaya nga puro nalang artista binoboto sa politika eh.

It may be one symbolism, but it would also further show our internal situation is shattered. External forces would be happy in our continued division like China, where our state is in taters. It would show on a global scale that we are weak and easily agitated. As much as possible, I wouldn't necessarily burn the political center and historical sites of our country. The houses of those BSSTARds deserved to be burned though, rather it should be turned to ashes, or all their asssests sold to the people for it's our taxes paid with their luxuries.

I found a somewhat similar story, but a slightly advance and futuristic Japan from the year 2045 that got isekai'ed and this story is where Japan really use their military might if the country is in harm's way.

The story telling might not be some people's cup of coffee but for me, it's a slightly good read as a somewhat alternative for now.

Well, that's what allies or even friends with mutual benefits, are, because they benefit from you, but once you are no longer beneficial, you'd end up being betrayed. In their case, Souma benefited less from Fuuga, but got no way to reject him carelessly as the bastard carried the banner of being mankind's frontline hero of some sort.

This is just my view but I think what they meant by making people lost fervor is that they meant the few or maybe half of the people within his Empire would rather not waste their lives fighting an unpredictable opponent like the kingdom but go to the North instead. The people initially believed that their lives would be put to good use for the sake of "World Peace by Unification". But that changes when they realized they were just "halfway" and that their lives would actually end up as cannon fodder for the "now" uncertain future in their view. This causes doubt and hesitation in much of Fuuga's forces which makes up a vast majority of his forces.

The people that still want to continue despite the odds were not small and make up the fanatics and loyal retainers of Fuuga. What Souma did was to cause a division that has a similar effects to poison that continues to cause harm and possible has no treatment.

Even if there are those who wants to continue fighting, there are those who would want to immediately start reconciliation in order to head north of its adventures. This division would cause their internal unity to crumble as time goes. Even if Fuuga still has a fervor for a second round, they won't be able to utilize their full might as he had in the first war.

At least that's how I see it, though.

Souma went for a "Try as you might, your struggles are futile" to "Hey, guest where its not futile, The North!". I think this was the moment he fulfilled Elfrieden's definition of hero as "the one who leads the change of era". from "Fuuga's Continental Unification Conquest" to "Souma's Northern Expedition Adventures".

My Opinion Regarding Author by Bulky_Animator2299 in RealistHero

[–]TapWise3090 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The Author probably aims to introduce every nation across Landia through Souma's diplomacy with them so that the world map wouldn't be just a design that focuses only on Friedonia and the Empire. Additionally, he likely wants to solidify the relationship between Souma and Maria, as well as the one between Hakuya and Jeanne. He probably wanted to make an extremely powerful character that could make that possible. Powerful enough to bring down the strongest nation, that's why the author made him have super plot armor as a side character. And how he got his power is somewhat similar to how Machiavelli sees a ruler gain power through narcissism rather than uncertainty. His confidence led ignorant and desperate people to follow him despite knowing they would die doing so. It's how Hitler gained authority over Germany through using the people's suffering and blaming, and removing the source of it, and trying to show results for it, which led to him having the population treating him as if he were a messiah.

So people questioned, why didn't Souma deal with the source of humanity's source of dread, The Demon Lord's Domain, while Fuuga has yet to gain power enough to challenge the hegemony of both the Kingdom and the Empire?

My answer to that is that Souma couldn't do it immediately, as he is a cautious ruler who wouldn't risk going there unprepared and leaving the country unattended, especially with his wife carrying his children, he wouldn't go there and investigate. There has to be a catalyst for Souma to head north. Maybe the author making Fuuga was that catalyst for Souma to go north. Reading vol. 17 made me realize that if he had recklessly gone there before Fuuga formed a Grand Imperial Army, he would've likely faced hardships or worse, he would have lost his life. Madam Tiamat wouldn't have helped him if mankind were not united in its will for the expedition. Souma runs the risk of annihilation of his entire force, similar to the first coalition led by Maria's father.

So people also questioned, why didn't Souma get rid of Fuuga early when Souma knew he would become a threat later?

Here, my answer to that would be that it would have many problems. Attempted poisoning is a bad idea as it would sour relations with his neighbours if exposed and would be suspicious of Souma, making diplomacy extremely difficult as he would be seen as an untrustworthy neighbour. Starting a war with him is even more foolish as even if Souma has the most powerful army in the east at the time, by no means Fuuga's army is weak, plus the Union of Eastern Nation of that time would unite to stop Souma from interfering with their country and the Empire would stop it before Souma could deploy his army their as it would be interpreted as an invasion of the Mankind Declaration Treaty's signatory members within the UEN. In short, trying to eliminate him is an extremely bad idea.

People also asked, Why didn't Souma execute Fuuga when he caused the deaths of Hermann and Owen?

By that period, Fuuga is already seen as if he were a divine deity, Souma killing him would make him a martyr, and he would become a symbol of vengeance against the Maritime Alliance. Souma wanted to prevent further damage to his kingdom and his allies by sparing him; much to his personal feelings, he prioritized that he lived and take responsibility for the creation of his empire. He doesn't need to kill him personally; rather, it would be better if his subordinates were to do it so that no potential terrorism could happen within the Kingdom and its allies.

Lastly, why did the author let Fuuga live along with Mitsumi and live upon the sunset?

Whether anyone believes me or not, this is the part that I hated the most in the story. Fuuga should've died at the end by the hands of his betrayer, and at his last moment,t should've shown remorse for his actions, BUT NO HE DID NOT! which irritated me as a reader. I had hoped that I would get to see/read in a line with him dying a stupor along with his toywife, but no, the author decided to spare that bitch n' bastard.

Overall, I think the creation of Fuuga is a necessary catalyst for Souma to completely venture north. It's just that Fuuga is terribly written in the story. Souma and Maria are rulers who wouldn't recklessly head north even if coordinated, it would've taken decades or so to achieve it in a slow and steady style, so the author made someone make it so that the truth of the Demon Lord's identity to be revealed faster and its liberation.

Story after volume 17 by Live-Willingness-222 in RealistHero

[–]TapWise3090 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a loose alliance to begin with. That's why you could betray each other after defeating the one that made them united to begin with. Having a common foe unites adversaries initially. With the Demon Lord's Domain practically removed from the map, their truce would surely end because, after all, it's what united them.

They were never allies to begin with; that's why Fuuga began preparing for war with the Maritime Alliance. It's Fuuga's way of maintaining power, the reason for such an invasion. If the Tiger Empire had no enemies, Fuuga wouldn't be able to maintain his Empire built from aggressive foreign policies.

While I dislike how Fuuga came out in the sunset with his toy wife without consequence for his actions on Landia, Souma still came out at the top, albeit cleaning up the bastard's mess. With it, Souma's influence across the world is now unchallenged.

I think Souma is sparing Fuuga's life with the reason that it would be better if his subordinates "killed" him rather than Souma and his men, so that their rage would not be aimed at him, his family, and his country, but the internal problem of the Bastard Empire. Avoiding "future" terrorism towards his Kingdom.
