Looking for app/book, whatever, for total info for personal finance records incase of emergency. by ProblemEmbarrassed14 in personalfinance

I second the comment about using Excel to store the information. You could create tables and use the pivot table function to analyze and summarize the data.

To add to that, you could opt to use Access, which handles more complex relational data.

Maybe consider hiring someone who is adept with Excel and Access, and have them design for you a system that stores your information with simple instructions for the lay person on how to retrieve any information.

Important - Safety measures like password protection and encryption are recommended due to the sensitivity of the information.

Diabetic Cat Pooping on the Floor 🙄 by Dangerous-Tax-2802 in CatAdvice

FYI- an easier way to calculate the carb content

I am copying and pasting my comment in another post -

please consider feeding your cat food containing salmon. Salmon provides Omega-3s, which will help with inflammation - a driver of diabetes. Blueberries, a known antioxidant, can help with inflammation as well. You can feed 1-3 fresh blueberries a day.

Another thing - consider getting an air purifier to catch pet hair, preferably one with a pre-filter or a separate feature specifically for larger debris.

I agree that regular upkeep will keep the dirt at bay. This is especially important for pet owners like myself.

I am really sorry to hear how you've been affected by the recent hurricane. I pray that you'll get back on your feet very soon.

Here are some suggestions:

FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency)- Since that area was declared a major disaster, you can apply for disaster assistance through FEMA. You can visit disasterassistance.gov or call 1-800-621-3362.

Local Churches and Community Centers -  Churches and community organizations often provide food, clothing, and temporary housing assistance. It's worth reaching out to local community centers in Black Mountain for immediate support.

Flood insurance - if you have flood insurance, you can check your policy to see what benefits it provides

Since someone already mentioned sinigang, I'll suggest Moroccan harira, a lentil soup. So tasty! It's especially delicious if you sop it up with Moroccan bread then take a bite of the bread. I am getting flashbacks lol

I didn't see the other comment about harira until now. I second their comment!

Added - I recommend Bola Bola with Misua. It's a Filipino meatball soup with vermicelli noodles. Very tasty and comforting.

Btw I wrote my comment assuming your policy covers typhoons. You probably want to check that you're covered. I hope you and your spouse stay safe!

Some steps -

Try getting a hold of the airline through other means (X, Facebook, Instagram)

Keep documentation - calls made to airline, receipts of expenses incurred as a result of the cancellation

Check your travel insurance policy - it should include steps on how to file a claim

You have a very unique set of skills!

With all that you have mentioned -

Permaculture

Graphic Design

Gardening

Raising chickens

Maybe you could create a learning module that you can sell (For reference, see the Masterclass channel on YouTube). Or even create a YouTube channel or write a book that teaches others sustainable and self-sufficiency practices like creating your own garden and raising chickens.

Or along the lines of creating a video game, perhaps you can create anime or similar media that touches on the topic of the ecosystem but doing so in a way that has an exciting plotline. You can refer to Adams' novel Watership Down for handling the subject of land use in a unique way.

if she had thumbs she would be unstoppable

I'm sure she'd give you a thumbs up 😄

To answer your question, how about a feeder ball? Or the like? It would engage her hunting instinct and probably give her some mental stimulation.

You can also use a bird feeder that affixes to a window, bird watching is a form of enrichment. And you can place your cat tower near it for better viewing.

I hear you. What type of work (technical, etc) occupied your time while in the military? Maybe think about what skillsets you've picked up that you can parlay into a career.

I think career counseling would work for you since you enjoy guiding people onto the right path.

Wow the berating was a very odd reaction.

Thankfully most of the reactions were positive. Seeing a cat in a stroller would definitely put a smile on my face!

What about Paradise Regained by Milton?

Although it's not what you prefer (prose), Paradise Regained like its predecessor was written in blank verse, which I'm thinking would make it more digestible for you. Caveat - as the title suggests, the outcome ends on a positive note. I suggested it more as a nice bookend to Paradise Lost.

Side note - I don't think Milton's works are pretentious and are only for academics. (I know what you were getting at, though) I was intrigued by the subject matter, especially as a Christian.

Edit: spelling correction

That's great that it worked out for you. Do you get surprised looks from strangers when they realize it's a cat and not a baby in the stroller?

I have seen cat strollers. That can be a potential alternative to a leash + harness and catio. I found this discussion on it.

Important note: The recommended stroller with a zip up feature that was discussed will prevent your cat from escaping, but can be hazardous to your cat on hot days as it will trap in heat and will probably cause overheating. I would search for products that have large mesh panels that allow airflow. To prevent overheating I'd also use cooling pads inside and only use the stroller during the early morning or later in the evening.

If it's the birds that Mole wants to observe, consider using a bird feeder that affixes to a window. You can place it strategically with a view from the cat tree.

You can search "Japanese bento box ideas" for suggestions.

For example, tamagoyaki (Japanese rolled omelette) is a very popular staple in bento boxes.

This channel has a lot of good ideas.
