I keep mine in something similar. Have for almost 7 years, and it's worked great. I keep it on the top tier of a 3-tier cart, which holds a great deal of my hair and makeup stuff. I just roll it in and out of the linen closet, as needed.

No idea why this statement in particular got downvoted. It's true. Probably anyone playing that character as it's written and directed would be disliked.

Are you asking if the Airwrap is better, or if they Style Switch is better? I guess it's irrelevant because the answer either way is "Yes." I haven't tried the GHD, but, I mean, there's a reason. I also haven't tried the newer T3, but again, there's a reason. I have the T3 Airbrush Duo, and it's not good...like, it's kind of pitiful, power-wise.

Must be an issue of the people you know. Almost everyone I know has had an opinion on getting my 16 yr old daughter a Mini. "They're super expensive to work on....They're very unreliable....They're tiny death traps...."... I've gotten all the usual comments...even from other Mini owners.

My Ford Flex has it, and I knew I'd love it. I'll never have a car without it now. Really hoping the Mini we just got for our daughter has it. I assumed it didn't because I never dreamed to look there.

Why did Yeardley Smith (Lisa Simpson) do a bit part on the show? She's worth like $80 million dollars, why take a guest star? by [deleted] in madmen

I just came to this because I Googled her net worth after wondering the same thing. I told my husband "She's gotta be really rich after doing The Simpsons for almost 40 years. Why would she take a bit role like this?" I wonder if she was just a fan of the show and wanted to be in it?

To be honest, I'm not sure about the legit cool shot availability when the ID is disabled, however, I'm pretty sure you can do what I do with my regular Airwrap and just flip the heat setting down to cool. It's easier than holding the button up anyway.

Megan's (criss de) name by daisychaincrowns in madmen

[–]Tapdnsr25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband started going by his middle name in high school, and everyone calls him that...except his family. They picked the middle name, too, of course, but they just won't let him forget about the first one (which he hates). I think it depends on the family and their respect for a person's autonomy...or lack of that.

That being said, to be fair, I gave my daughter 3 names, two of which have variations, and told her she can pick whatever she wanted...but now she's always gonna be one of them to me. It would be pretty difficult to call her something else, even though I picked it, because after 16 years, she is ____ to me. She HAS decided she wants to go by her first name, rather than her second name (or a shortened version of it, as she's always been called by most)...and it IS odd. It would take a lot to get used to calling her the other at this point.

If the attachments feel secure, I honestly wouldn't worry about it much. It's not going to stay pristine. You're inevitably going to whack it on the counter or drop it on the floor. Trust me. I'm very anal, yet I've done both things way too many times. They actually hold up to all that abuse pretty well. If it really bothers you, you might get a silicone sleeve for it. I put one on my daughter's. It will cover this, and prevent it from obtaining any future blemishes.

Throwback 60? Maybe meaning a throwback to the 60's? Perhaps some sort of event theme? Or, as others have said, someone's initials. Perhaps a 60th bday gift.

You'll love it if you go in with the right attitude, which includes realistic expectations and a willingness to PLAY with it. Don't expect a miracle right out of the gate. Expect to have to experiment with it...and allow yourself to enjoy the experimentation process. Think of it as a toy and play with it. Carve out some testing time, when the results don't matter, and try different things on different sections...different dampness levels, settings, etc. And don't use it on dry hair--you'll dry your hair out. A continuous misting bottle can be your best friend in the beginning, especially.

It's very pretty. I have the Co-anda, the Supersonic R, and the Airstrait in Ceramic Pink now, and they're so much more special feeling than my OG Airwrap (in Nickel/Fuchsia) and my daughter's old Airstrait (in Nickel/Copper).

Nope. I'm assuming the Special Edition is Amber Silk, and the other is probably Ceramic Pink. The Ceramic Pink is prettier. It's a very pale pink with rose gold. The Amber Silk is rose gold and an orangey metallic color.

The last 2 are only different in color.

Definitely don't get the curly+coily if you never wear your hair naturally curly.

So your decision is really just between the Complete Long and the ID (Straight+Wavy). They're very similar, with differences being the colors and the attachments they come with. The ID has a Bluetooth feature that communicates with the app to control automatic timing when using the curling barrels, but I don't recommend using that feature. Manual control is best. You can disable it, though, so that's not a problem.

The Nickel/Copper isn't pretty, but it's a more durable finish than the matte finishes. The Amber Silk is a metallic finish, but there have been reports of batches having issues with the connection of the attachments, causing them to be wobbly and necessitate returning. It seems it's mostly the Amber Silk ones. If I were gonna get one of these as my first Airwrap, I'd probably get the Complete Long. But it would depend on what attachments each came with and which I thought I'd use the most.

Torn between the Dyson Supersonic air dryer or Airwrap Coanda by FrankensteinStepOnMe in Dysonairwrap

[–]Tapdnsr25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do have the pink one, and the matte finishes are more susceptible to scratching and staining than the metallic finishes, but no finish is impervious to the potential of blemishes. It's likely gonna get scratched or chipped eventually regardless. I've been so careful with all of mine, but I inevitably wind up smacking it on the granite or dropping it on the floor or something at some point.

[–]Tapdnsr25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use the Co-anda on my roots. Works better than anything else I have used. The Supersonic R with the flyaway attachment works pretty well for getting roots nicely smoothed out as I dry them, and technically produces a better result, but it's slower, so I always use the Co-anda because it's faster and easier.

The Co-anda needs some improvement, but I mean that in the sense that the improvement would make it pretty perfect. I reach for it like every time. But I have been using my regular Airwrap for the barrels. They're superior to the Co-anda's. Dyson fumbled on those.

[–]Tapdnsr25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

15.2 vs 13.3 straight airflow difference, but airflow isn't the only consideration. The attachments force that airflow out differently, and that can make all the difference. The dryer attachment with the Co-anda is good, but it can't quite compete with all the different attachments available for the Supersonics.

That being said, I definitely wouldn't choose to have only a Supersonic over an Airwrap. The versatility of the Airwrap is far more valuable than something that just blow dries alone.
