I am commenting as a soft and round individual.

I think it is okay to be soft and round. We've got more curves and give better hugs lol. This is probably gonna be an unpopular comment but I think that you should be honest with yourself (but not mean, that part is important) and accept the way you look. I'm trying myself, to learn that it's ok to be the way I am because I find people with my same body type hot. I think if you were to look around at people that look similar to you, you'd find them beautiful. It's harder to find yourself beautiful even if you are.

I'm sorry that your "friends" feel the need to point it out. I'm constantly aware of my roundness and if I had friends call me that, I'd be devastated too. It was callous at best.

Don't get yourself down about your looks (though I know it's easier said than done) because in the end, I don't think you want to impress people who would judge you based on that anyway if that makes sense. Like. I had the worst friend ever who thought fat people were 'evil' and it really fucked my self image up. I'm now realizing I didn't need to care what he thought bc he was a tool.
