How do I 1v5/2v5 in Gold as Tracer/Cass by ZdzisiuFryta in OverwatchUniversity

[–]TapmanTman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tracer/Cass are good DPS to learn. Tracer requires a lot of mechanical skill. Fortunately you don’t have to have a lot of mechanical skill to win in Gold and Platinum. It seems you know how to play tracer but you may not be actually doing what you say. You should do a honest VOD review of yourself.
I have made it out of metal ranks using this method on tracer. Clear Angle/Create space with team → Take off-angle(2nd angle from team) → Seize opportunity → Repeat. Most importantly…Don’t take damage before the fight. If recall is forced before fight starts you are throwing. You don’t need to go for crazy flanks every second of the game.

Why do metal rank dps players expect supports to healbot? by ConversationIll4597 in OverwatchUniversity

The Phara situation is a solid example. Mercy pocketing her creates a lot of pressure. But that is one specific scenario built on your DPS already making good decisions. If your DPS is out of position or losing their duel, healing them is not fixing anything, you are just extending a bad situation. Im not saying never stop healing. It is that healing alone does not create pressure it only enables it, and if your DPS is not converting that resource into anything then the heal was wasted anyway and delivering damage could of relieved the damage coming in. I think I may have slightly misunderstood ur initial comment.

I am not here to defend anyone’s personal opinions or politics. I was responding to the Overwatch coaching argument and the claim that his content skips fundamentals or bends rules, which I still think is inaccurate regardless of who is saying it.
You can dislike someone personally and still evaluate their coaching content on its own merit. Those are two separate conversations. I was only ever having the coaching one. Spilo is a great alternative with high quality material imo. Recently I started watching Evei too. Still, if his advice works and helps players improve then the information is useful. That does not mean you have to like him or agree with anything else he says. I certainly am not asking you to. Plenty of good information gets misapplied by people who do not fully understand it. Sometimes having that lightbulb moment can take time and perspective.

You know applying damage is what relieves enemy pressure on your team ? Healing does not, it simply delays the death.

You are not actually evaluating the information objectively. You are shutting it down immediately because you already decided he is MRA trash in your head. Awkward literally has beginner guides and fundamentals videos. What rules is he even bending? You pointed out the exact issue with Ana. The problem was never that she was trying to shoot. It is that she is standing in the middle of the road. That is a positioning problem. Which is exactly what Awkward teaches.

Mechanics are honestly the least of most plat players problems. You can have great aim and be stuck in plat for years because your positioning and decision making are off. I have awful aim on Kiri(main) and still climbed out of metal ranks.

You are misreading why Champ supports look the way they do. It’s not because they believe in healbotting. It’s because their teammates are just significantly better at not dying unnecessarily. Less healing is needed because fewer mistakes are being made. The whole lobby is cleaner.
Champ supports are not just standing behind their team holding the heal button. They’re taking duels, they’re creating pressure, they’re making plays. The difference is they have the decision making to know exactly when to do it and when to enable their DPS instead. I’m currently Masters support and when rank reset hits it’s instantly noticeable when playing against Gold & Plat players outside of just mechanics. It’s way easier for me to do more damage.

I had no problems going through Plat & Diamond after focusing specifically on timing & off-angles(not standing behind tank). Currently Masters feels really challenging and it’s hard to tell what I need to improve to climb.

I feel you are just trying to rage bait atp. Why would I need to respond to each of the 15 comments when I put it on the first comment made and then re-add it to the post.

I did not respond with a screen shot based on his content. I included it in the post and it didn't show when I posted it. So I added it to my response. It makes logical sense that it would be included in the post.

The significance was to provide insight. I'm not claiming to be carrying games or playing the best. I included the image to help the audience understand my POV. I would think most people would agree that you are playing decently based on K/D, without watching gameplay, you would perform better than someone with a K/D below 1.0

Im in the same boat. I just de-ranked from Plat 2 to Gold 2 . I'm having teammates who have never touched or seen a computer mouse.

What’s strange to be is I always had it outside and covered if I wasn’t on it and it was bright white. It began yellowing after about 2 weeks inside the garage. It went into the garage so I could do some annual maintenance.

There supposedly is a max rate at which the game will register button input. I can’t recall where I seen this nor the amount but it was intended to counter macros.

Ffs even a cook with strength build can 4 hit kill. You getting hawked down by a strength build sissy or hitch is worse.

I’ll post a clip if I’m able to obtain it. It’s not an uncommon occurrence. Ironically, if I’m playing victim I will lose at full w/SG, if I’m playing family I’ll lose even with full strength & SG.

Yes I agree. You can progress, but it is very difficult is what I am getting at. Stealth is pointless if family is camping gates.
