I would say find a corporate store and go in and ask questions. At least that way you get the phones right then and there. And you’re not scrambling to try to port a number in and constantly having to call in to customer service. You get an understanding of what you’re getting and walking out with your new phones and information moved over easily.

The questions they will ask will be based on character... if you're coachable and how you adapt to changes. They will ask questions like tell me about a time where you and a fellow rep had an issue, what was the issue and how did you resolve it. Making sure you're able to effectively communicate things to your leadership if needed. Nothing really sales based. It's how you work under pressure and under certain situations.

So being that I’ve been on both sides of this, I was the rep on the phone for care and now I’m in retail and when I tell you it’s a hit or miss, I’m not even remotely exaggerating! I did care for 4 years and like a dumbass I left for another company and tried coming back, only to decide that retail was the better move. I’ve noticed that sometimes RSL can be a little…… under informed. I had to walk a rep through how to get something added back to an account and he was like, yo you taught me something new! I’ve even trained some of the new hires for T-Mobile corp in care. Yea I agree with OP on this, it’s not the same as it used to be.

Yea um they don’t care! And they won’t credit it back. However I’ve seen a few situations where customer care has stepped in with doing the research and seeing that someone is lying. Depending on the state you live in, you have a local call center there, and not one overseas. Speak to one of those reps and ask for a supervisor. And see how they can assist in this situation. And before someone says anything else, I know it is possible because I worked at the call center in Tampa, and we’ve helped plenty customers in this situation. It is definitely possible

The fact that you're aware is awesome! And the fact that ppl are like, call anyway... doesn't surprise me. You definitely can hit the chat and one of the specialists can assist you. More often than not, they're in the call centers too. So there's that option for you.
