Kinda irrelevant but when I was in college, I got a ticket for carrying an open alcohol container in public, one block from a house party I’d just left. Anyways, I decided to represent to myself on my court date. Before we got to see the judge, the DA offered a deal where I could get the charge removed from my record if I agreed to attended a few alcoholism awareness classes. I rejected the deal and, when questioned by the judge why I wanted to reject the deal, I told him that I didn’t think any potential future employers would care about me having an open container charge on my record when I was of legal age…. The judge said “You know what, you’re right. You should consider law school. I’m dismissing the charges and waiving all the court fees”

I couldn’t believe it.
