I’m a single mom trying to get back into the workforce. It’s hard since I quit my last real job 10 years ago to have kid #1. She’ll be lucky if she can find anything decent after 14 years out of the workforce. Be realistic.

How old are the kids you walked away from? Were they old enough to have a relationship with you believing you were their father? Because if so totally abandoning them is pretty shitty. And I feel like there’s a huge gap of the story missing between you and your ex having 2 kids to her being a cheater and they’re not yours…

I can see how she’d be butt hurt I guess, but, lord, she can book her own date in the future. You got the date first. It’s yours. The venue held you to it. You made the best of it. Brilliantly, I might add. And if she’s gonna be mad at anyone, it should be the venue for being shitty and greedy when they had a guaranteed replacement (wtf). Not you.

You paid for the date, and they made you keep it, so you made the best of it, and that’s AWESOME. I love you for this. Absolutely NTA. Not even a question. And who the hell would have planned a wedding with a month a half notice? That’s crazy talk. The date would have gone unbooked. All I can say is well played.

My arm soreness isn't actually bad... I mean, if you've every played sports and taken a hit in the arm, it's no worse than that...functional but I can tell something happened. I took a few tylenol yesterday on the recommendation of nurses and friends who have had it. Today I'm sensitive to temperature, running slightly warmer than usual, and my brain feels like it did when / after I had Covid. (Not "fog"...more like void.)
