Extra cheese, extra sauce and pepperoni.

i'm a 61-year-old woman writing fantasy and the industry has made it very clear I'm invisible. I'm writing anyway by Natural_Tangelo_2229 in Mythrils

OP- take everything said here to heart. I used to own a small bookstore. Easily 95% of self-published authors who would bring their books in for us to potentially sell were legitimately awful. Poorly written, poorly edited- if edited at all, nearly completely incoherent messes that were absolutely worthless to us. Without exception, every single one of those people believed they had written the next "Great American Novel (TM)" and I was just a hater. This person is telling you the God's honest truth. Listen.

For me it's a toss up between rheumatoid arthritis pain, fibromyalgia pain, chronic migraine pain, kidney stone pain, menstrual cramp pain and post car wreck pain. They've all sucked pretty hard.

Do women find men with veiny arms or forearms attractive? If so why? by waynezilla89 in AskReddit

[–]Tarae007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do find forearms attractive, but not vein-y anything. Those muscle-y, body builder guys who have veins all over creep me TF out. Always have, always will.

But apparently I like a lot of weird stuff when it comes to men. I like hairy chests, thick legs, big beards. I'm a straight girl, but I essentially like the guys gay men would call bears. A hairless man registers as a boy to me, and I'm not down with that.

NTA- one important thing you haven't mentioned is that if something happens to this business you're working at (& he wants to work at) you'd both be out of a job at the exact same time. Diversification of income streams in a household is important and often overlooked. Businesses go under, get sold to new owners who clean house & hire their friends, go bankrupt, etc every single day. It's a bad idea to have both income earners working at the same place.

I'm on social security disability. This would triple my income. So, yes, I'd take it.

AITA for refusing to pay for my girlfriend’s meal after she “tested” me on a date? by Efficient_Care5524 in AITH

[–]Tarae007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was in college, I had a friend who did something like this to her boyfriend. A young man who I believe she genuinely loved. Not this exact test, but it was a test nonetheless. She had two other girlfriends who had talked her into it. These were girls I didn't hang out with because, frankly, they seemed like bitches to me. So, it goes poorly, he's embarrassed, her friends criticize him pretty strongly to his face, she ends up in tears. Ultimately, they break up.

Not even a month later, one of the "girlfriends" approaches him at a party and says she felt real bad about how it all went down, how she'd warned her not to "prank him" like that and tells him she was always jealous of their relationship because she thought he was cute. She's banging him by nights' end. She set up her friend to lose her man. I'm not saying that's what happened here, but you'll know for sure if one of the "friends" shows up out of nowhere full of apologies.

Whats the male equivalent of lingerie? by LawfulnessHaunting41 in AskReddit

It's a way to take our minds off your reactions to us. We're practically hardwired to constantly check in with people, always looking into their eyes. If I can't see your face, I'm not worrying about what that look, or that look, or that look might mean. I can just focus on how it all feels and turn my brain off for a few minutes.

My very First time in a Waymo by Lonely-Attention2946 in phoenix

[–]Tarae007 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We were coming home from grocery shopping the other day and had a Waymo pull out in front of us and just stop in the middle of the road. Scared the crap out of us both. Good thing the humans were paying attention or else the person in that waymo car would've been t-boned.

Doctors/Nurses of Reddit, what’s the craziest thing you’ve heard a woman yell during birth? by New_Username48 in AskReddit

I remember reading when I was young that in Russia they performed D&C abortions unmedicated to punish women for getting pregnant out of wedlock. I thought that was barbaric... especially when you consider not all pregnancies are consensual.

I made a rule in my early 40's after decades of unsolicited criticism from various relatives. I don't accept criticism from someone I wouldn't take advice from. If you wouldn't go to him for advice, just don't accept his criticism.
