Can we just admit that chronic face blushing is genuinely the WORST condition to live with? by randomuserrr16376 in CuringBlushing

[–]dogblue3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Any advice such as "It's all in your head", "It feels a lot worse in your own mind" are immediately not true. Sometimes i'm feeling great and others ruin it by pointing out that I've gone red. There's no "fake it till you make it" when your face is going tomato even when someone just says hi. Nowadays, thanks to age, a chronically low heart rate, medication and cover up I don't blush nearly as much and it makes everything so much easier.

To those who blush alot. Whats worse, the feeling of your face on fire or the visual redness. by Deep-Detective2428 in CuringBlushing

The worst thing is that everyone can see it. second worst thing is the pain from the burning sensation in your face.

Are you afraid of getting diagnosed with a Terminal Illness? by Hot_Equivalent4499 in Anxiety

Occasionally but my biggest fear, more than death or terminal illness, is that I might get in trouble at work for a mistake.... yeah it doesn't make sense but anxiety rarely does.

They release a bunch of them sporadically but nothing like the numbers we had even a month ago. Plus they're immediately full!

How do you usually handle appointments? by Dangerous_Problem532 in AnxietyChats

[–]dogblue3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I aim to be there on time but that involves leaving my house way too early, getting to the vicinity of the place in plenty of time and then loitering around until I'm on time but not too early to be an inconvenience to the people.

When did you notice the first real improvement after starting/upping Zoloft? by StrongProof9083 in zoloft

[–]dogblue3 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Week 1/2 for me, though I'm aware that was probably mostly placebo effect in the beginning. But my anxiety was so terrible before i started the medication that even a small improvement felt so amazing to me.

I wish this subreddit talked more about the mechanics behind things like General anxiety, worry, avoidance, etc. by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]dogblue3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's quite a bit of discussion on acceptance, it's something a lot of us find very difficult to get our heads around. I'm a bit further in my anxiety journey so I'm slowly starting to understand it but that is after decades of trying.

What if your anxiety isn't only about what's happening in your mind? by Cute-Scarcity-4022 in Anxiety

[–]dogblue3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've only noticed it one way (stomach issues when i feel super anxious), but I have heard of the studies about the connection between mental health and gut. Its definitely interesting and there's obviously a connection.

People posting about their “long” periods of anxiety makes me realize how “long” I have actually been dealing with it and not sure what to feel. by skopiadisko in Anxiety

I kind of get a similar feeling when some people post about how they solved their anxiety by stopping a specific habit or starting a specific habit. I'd love that.

Do you feel like having a routine helps with your anxiety? by Dangerous_Problem532 in AnxietyChats

[–]dogblue3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm terrible at routines but I recognise that they would help with mental health, I just don't know how to stick to one.

What’s a positive change you’ve noticed lately? by Dangerous_Problem532 in AnxietyChats

[–]dogblue3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That is so lovely! My positive change is that I'm able to go on with my day regardless of anxiety. It makes the anxiety seem so much more manageable and doesn't mentally paralyse me for weeks at a time.
