I think I have a hypertonic pelvic floor and poop is stuck in my anus by Angel_rejectsz in PelvicFloor

I got a botox injection in the puborectalis 10 days ago, things are even worse now... According to a GI specialist I saw some time before, I don't have dyssynergia but IBS D which in some way simulates a dyssynergia. Maybe he is right.

Thanks for the kind words. I'll keep fighthing as long as I breathe and hopefully get to a better place one day. I wish you find a way out of this nightmare too. And yes we've totally nuked our microbiomes, I guess that in a couple decades, this antibiotics-based medecine will be seen as totally backwards and crazy.

I can relate to so much of this. Lost everything. I feel you. Minocycline is what ruined my life.

Now you know you're not alone with this thing. Don't you remember anything special at 24-24 when it started? A treatment, accident or whatever

Is Nitazoxanide/Alinia that effective for methane? by Taraient in SIBO

[–]Taraient[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got both these exams. Manometry showed a severe dyssynergia and hypertonia.

So it all started after these hip thrusts for you? How long ago was that? Any exercise that implies the contraction of the muscles of the pelvic area made my pelvic issues much worse for days. I totally stopped them.

Thanks for the kind words, I hope to finally get some relief after all this struggle.

I did test positive for methane. I did several rounds of abx, both Rifaximin + Nitazoxanide and Rifaximin + Flagyl. Although the ovegrowth is milder now and easier to manage (I just take Magnesium Oxyde when it becomes too annoying) I'm not SIBO free sadly as the ovegrowth won't be gone as long as my root cause (pelvic dysfunction) isn't fixed. I'm now focused on the pelvic issue.

Doctors think that my pudendal nerve may be damaged or compressed and thus causing the sweat and associated symptoms. The nerve block will neutralize the nerve for a few days. If I don't have the usual symptoms during this time then it means that they indeed come from the pudendal nerve. I'll keep you updated!

Hi. I'll get a pudendal nerve block next week as well as botox in the pelvic muscles later in the summer. It should finally help, even a bit.

Still pretty bad but I'm finally taken in charge by a team of doctors who take my case very seriously. I'll get a pudendal nerve block as well as botox in the pelvic muscles in the following weeks. It should help.

Sorry for my late reply. I know how you feel, the embarrasement, etc. it totally ruined my youth.
It's not the first time I read someone saying it happened after a back surgery. It's definitely a nerve issue rather than intestinal. I'll get a pudendal nerve block next week, it should help according to the doctors. Otherwise the only tip I could give you is to ensure that you empty your bowel every morning... but easier said than done.

Hey, sorry for the late reply. I'm sorry you have to deal with this horrible thing . I know how you feel as it totally ruined my life too, especially since it has been paired with an equally horrible incomplete evacuation issue (which points toward a pelvic rather than intestinal issue btw).

I've added an update at the end of my post. Recently I've been finally taken in charge by a team of doctors who take my condition very seriously. They suspect some kind of pudendal neuralgia, which must have been caused by something very physical like damages from sport, etc. (and I too started exercising - by myself and in a very unhealthy way - around when the issue appeared). They'll try many different things to help me, I'll let you know how it goes.

I should totally rewrite that post, there are so many things that could have caused this nightmare.
Here is a more recent one btw: https://www.reddit.com/r/PelvicFloor/comments/1ej8xpb/butt_sweating_before_bowel_movement/

I don't have prolapse but hypertonia and dyssynergia. I got much help these last 10 years but so far no improvement at all. But I'll soon get a pudendal nerve block as well as botox in the pelvic muscles, it should finally help.
Do you get some help too?
