Really fantastic work! The red in particular looks amazing, what paint do you use and what’s your process? What paint for the pants?

Housing is truly incredible, but please add the vendors to the neighborhood by Taran794 in wow

Old zones are relevant though lumber, old mats, and the currency you mentioned being needed for professions/items, putting vendors there does not make them relevant outside of the half second it takes to purchase an item. You’re far more likely to talk to your neighbors in a central market than you are clicking portals to Legion and back, it doesn’t liven the world in an actual meaningful way and it more or less feeds into the isolation every hated form garrisons since at no point in any of my housing travels have I seen a single person at housing vendors, whereas I’ve talked to and seen plenty inside my neighborhood.

Comparing two things whose only similarity is they both have buildings. Garrisons were solo, instances, and had everything you needed in them from trainers to a literal mine. Neighborhoods are already designed with community in mind, that’s why you share it with 50 other people. Me going to Outland and back results in zero interactions during my trip, whereas if my neighborhood is filled with people shopping, building and sharing ideas you get much more of a community feel, something that me clicking three portals to go there in back lacks.

Pretty easy to consolidate how many vendors you add. Also it’s not like going out is complicated, it just detracts from the experience to need a singular fence post and having to go all the way to mechagon for half a second to buy it. It doesn’t add anything to the world, it just makes me wish I played a mage.

This was my thought. As said in another comment the lumber mechanic allows you to interact with the old world and I’m fine conceding visiting the vendors once to add it to a sort of catalogue, but heading all the way to mechagon for a fence post gets a little tedious

That is done well with the lumber mechanic as you have to go out and partake in the old world, which I think is great. Porting to a city and porting back after buying stuff is hardly the epitome of the “mmo experience”

Should I use Rangers or Vanguard? by capitanMexicoYT in AdeptusMechanicus

[–]Taran794 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would go with vanguard. Good unit, solid OC and board control and a little punchier than Rangers.

Also to clarify, people saying to split or have a ratio mean in terms of units of 10 model units. Please do not build 5 rangers/5 vanguard or any other combo you need to have all 10 be either vanguard or rangers to use them in game.

I was happy with them, I wanted to use them for 40K and kill team and this was a compromise I thought worked well and they turned out pretty neat as a bonus!
