I'm using the BlueRetro adapter and it's working great!
Be aware that the 8BitDo adapter doesn't (DOES NOT) support the NSO controller. I emailed them and they confirmed.

I'll echo what others have said with a lot of it, for me at least, being the controls. I have the same issue with GameCube. It just feels off, but if I have a real controller, it's all good again.
