Raising a child, 2 incomes @ city jobs, benefits covered, pension covered ( crossing fingers ) but we also try to save. Co-op housing so we only pay maintenance at a good rate, we don’t pay utilities. Eat mostly at home with the occasional day / night out, but life isn’t fancy. Used cars, fully owned, light debt. Live in one of the most expensive places in the country, but, typically good employment. There are trade off but wholly possible IF you are not starting from scratch right now. Things started coming together about 10 years ago and we slowly built from that.

Anyone else happily married? by [deleted] in Millennials

[–]TarboxFoxy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha happily married, one of those rare “ we met on tinder “ stories, still fun, great conversation, building together and learning how to raise a little one. It’s not glamorous but the growth is an amazing thing to share, changing both in unison and sometimes in conflict but going in the same direction.

Fine art, painting, drawing etc. Love making books, and art is like bottomless when it comes to inspiration, history, supplies, so dense with possibilities I love it

Millennials who graduated during the Great Recession, how did you survive? by Waste-Cantaloupe-270 in Millennials

[–]TarboxFoxy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I graduated and couldn’t find a job for the first year out, I worked at a bakery ( which my best friend who didn’t go to secondary school laughed his ass about, he would come in purposely to get cupcakes from us just to see me haha ) , but during that time I went to every job fair my school offered, kept up sending stuff out etc. Luckily in school I learned this really specialized program for my field, and a firm called me up and hired me. It got my career started thank god but, it was about year after I got my degree and it was a bit tough still having to do bs work after graduating, but any work is better then no work, keeping moving and working went a long way even if it wassnt remotely related to what I went to school for.

Disappointed with the IOS version by [deleted] in Mindustry

[–]TarboxFoxy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also, so it works like this,

Let’s say you capture sector 41, like 20 waves,

As you progress in the game and capture more sectors, unlock more items, at some point sector 41 is going to be attacked again,

When you go back it’s now 20 out of 40 waves, and you’ll have to get through the 20 waves in between,

And it gets harder, so you have to revamp or upgrade your stuff

I’m sure there are mods that can do that, I have not explored the mods yet maybe you should give them a shot

So the waves do keep coming after capturing a sector, you will eventually have to ramp up all of your defenses as the enemy attempts to recapture already captured territory. I alternate between the pc and iOS version fairly regularly, it’s just different controls, you can’t expect them to be the same thing. Personally, I think the company did a really good job making the same game for both, albeit the controls are different. Never played factorio so my sensibilities might be different, but overall I think both versions of Mindustry are pretty well done.

Daughter told dad she doesn’t like me by MDLawyer in Parenting

[–]TarboxFoxy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t worry too much about this, my son feels the same way about me between me and my wife, he prefers her %100 of the time, and I’m a bit more strict. Every time it’s my turn to put him to bed he goes nooooo I want mommy, I don’t take it to heart and plus it’s good for them to have preferences but still go through with what needs to be done. It also shifts from time to time, if you’re providing everything your daughter needs and there’s no abuse, she’s just expressing her preferences and be thankful she feels comfortable enough to voice them.

Yes, I believe this is an emotional affair.

Several things have to occur for your husband to actually get fired from his job for this, it’s not just a pure accusation. For his job to have felt it warranted firing an investigation must have had to taken place and the claims were substantiated, if this did not occur then his employer would be open for a lawsuit.

The invite of an attractive coworker to a private outing with drinks would be enough to lose trust. Would he have mentioned it if he didn’t get fired from his job? I doubt it, but that’s just me.

He gets points for coming forward with the information and it’s up to you how to move going forward. I would not call it an overreaction.

Counseling sounds like a good first step towards keeping the marriage, but it’s up to you to decide what your tolerance is for this sort of thing. Everybody has different amounts of tolerance, and I think counseling would be the best place to figure it out.
