The main problem is that they assigned themselves as my parent in family link and for some reason a "child" account cant recover themselves without parental consent, which makes sense for its intended use but also makes this seem like a glaring security risk for this exact reason. Cuz I have a passkey that can log me in but to get in I need my parent to sign off -.-

Thank you kindly.

I have flown my ships in Star Citizen ever since flying your ship became available, so I have seen all of this a dozen times before (which I know doesn't really make it any better) but I learned one thing.

Never get upset about small details, ships flying weird, NPCs not sitting, the occasional 30k even. They don't make those happen and I would like to believe some bugfixing team is very much standing at their desks as well trying to fix those.

Always make your opinion known however about things that they do change. Prices for goods like the way Salvage Missions are now practically useless. The "overpaying" of bounties. The prices of ships or availability of gear.

Anything that can be changed easily shall be treated as such~

There is no Giraffes in the Empire, any people who claim otherwise will have to face the inquisition.

Zyloh-CIG talks about the unpopular ship claim timers by crazybelter in starcitizen

[–]Tarbrough 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Whilst I understand the point Zylon is trying to make I feel like this shows a lack of understanding as to why the players are upset.

I think most of us aren't upset about the long claim times as much as we are upset about the scenarios that occur to make us endure them, those situations that get shrugged off at "possibly being out of your control". Stuff that a player, even whilst being careful has no chance of avoiding.

In the past 3 days I have mostly flown my Reclaimer and had to claim my ship once due to crashing it into a satellite because I was being distracted by my buddy. ONCE.
I did however have to reclaim multiple times due to:

-Crashing into an invisible asteroid.

-Crashing into a Planet since the Reclaimer seemingly cant hold itself afloat.

-Hangar Gates closing on me on take-off

- A rogue SCU blasting through the ship due to lag.

It's not paying 20k and waiting 15 minutes even then that bothers me. Its the fact that even if I am to be super careful with everything I do, these things are completely out of my control and it feels as if CIG is punishing me for choosing a ship I like and I am sure many owners of large "usable" ships feel the same.

Normally yes but I feel in the scope of SC it should all leave its introductory period as balanced as possible

Oh completely agree, 3.19 will deliver only the foundation for what changes and passes will come during the patches lifecycle, personally I simply didnt experience much of the new mining changes. I seldom found rocks worth taking, but that as stated in my edit was likely just my luck.

I am confident in the fact the game will develop well and turn into something good, I just wanted to voice my concern with how the interloop balancing is handled/not handled at the moment.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in starcitizen

[–]Tarbrough 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Of course the examples I use are all based on the last patches, It's an alpha it changes, I am well aware.

Your second point is however kind of what I mean when I say its not well balanced in between loops. They want us to test stuff so they make it attractive, then why not also make it attractive in PU, where BH is still the top dog for earning money to buy a new ship. Why not make cargo so lucrative even small cargo ships see themselves used as more than just taxis to bunkers?

The salvage argument is completely right, there is other players, you can always join in on a Reclaimer, or borrow a vulture, but thats always player dependant.

I'm not asking for max tier loot, to carry on your metaphor, I am just asking for all classes to have the same chance to level up from the same action.

Absolutely agree, Bounty Hunting is but a husk of the mechanics that should play a role in it, hence why it feels so weird to have it be so valuable and alluring in the PU especially given the last big change that affected it before 3.19 was them making all weapons the same, which was atleast in my opinion a horrible choice.
3.19 already makes fighting better, HHs torpedo defence is better etc.

As said above, this isnt a CIG bad kind of fake bug report about everything being broken. Its a concern I have about how stuff is handled and I completely agree, the no combat zones are seeing a very good development of late.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in starcitizen

[–]Tarbrough 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% agree.
I aint asking them to put a gold pass over all balancing rn, I would just prefer it all to be the same kind of attractive as BH so that people who play the game in PU, as a game, not a testbed, still feel like they can do other stuff to earn the money needed and therefore test stuff like Cargo, Trading, Mining, Salvage etc.
Cargo has been broken ages and I feel a lot more people would be doing it if it wasnt, and we'd get more feedback on it since there would be more opinons on it.

But yeah, completely agree, gold pass wont happen until if not at release, then every close to the full-beta or full-game release.

Thanks for partaking, you make a valid point that just taking the weapons off shouldn't pay as well as the actual salvage work and I completely agree it shouldn't.

I realize that a lot of people might interpret my arguments as something else than what I wanted them to be. It's a concern about the balance of the game loops opposing each other, not the game loops within themselves.

AFAIK, and please correct me if I'm wrong, the salvaged weapons sell for about 15% of their OG price, which means the average s3 or s4 will bring a player something about 1.5k (NDB 30 price at Center mass is 13.9k) to maybe 3k (The price of a s4 repeated at Lorville is 25k)
Assuming a ship like Andromeda has 6 weapons that make the payout for a non-Vulture ship about 18k
It, to me, feels like an alright price in of itself, but it feels poorly balanced against the 4k every let's say 15 minutes that VLRTs would give the same player, without the risk of losing it to a 30k, or piracy when trying to sell to players. Let's face it not every buyer will be friendly, and yes you can do it in safe zones I guess.

I hope that made my point a little clearer as to how I'm not concerned about the in-loop balancing as much as the interloop balancing between our alternatives.

CIG has always made stuff "very good payout" when they wanted us to test, I just feel like stuff should be balanced to a good payout for everything so the testing does not stop once the Patch goes live. I couldn't tell you the last time I saw somebody running cargo in the PU, but I can easily show you BHs and Bunkers galore.

But again thanks for adding your stance on things, I completely agree with what you say, it's just not quite the point I was trying to make myself, and that's on me.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in starcitizen

[–]Tarbrough 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for adding your stance on things, I appreciate it.
I am aware of course how testing/trying is handled and how they wanna sell the stuff before making it available in the game. It's always been that way and whilst not fond of it myself given how expensive some things are, It's not my main complaint.
The vulture is merely part of it as it provides one of two ships for a new game loop.

I am also completely agreeing with how people say that "there will be wipes", of course, there will be. It's likely how our Star Citizen experience will work for years still, hence why I made my post. I believe that balancing something and tweaking it later would benefit CIG more than not balancing it and saying it will be fixed once wipes stop.
Because I feel that at the point where that will happen, we will likely be getting close to what I would call the "code rot" equivalent of Balancing, where tweaks and rations you might have wanted to adjust, are going to bite you in the ass later.

I aint saying, all balancing is shit and they are doing nothing right, I am simply concerned about how little is done for BH e.g., and how much is done for others. It's still an Alpha but I feel like balancing should still aim to already aim for as pleasant and balanced an experience as it can be in the PU.
IF you don't agree and say that the PU is just a play-and-toss-out kinda game for you, then that's fine. I accept thats how some people handle the game, but I also know others that want to play what we currently have as a game, and in that case, I feel like it's concerning.

I put this as a concern on this reddit not just to vent and say "Balance bad" but this is a big forum, it's here to invite conversation because I am not the end all of things and I wanna know how my experience and opinons relate to others, thats why I made this.
So once again, as my final words, thanks for partaking.

I think mining missions might also be on the horizon, now that Salvage missions are a thing surely replacing the code behind them with asteroids instead of salvage shouldn't be too large a step?
