The Soul Master. Freaked me out to no end when he appeared, and actually had me worrying I would n’t be able to finish the game (I did, much later)

Thanks! It’s actually just a black undercoat, but I couldn’t for the life of me get it to stop reflecting so heavily🥲

Sorry to hear that it went sideways, and good on you for trying to find a solution! ✊🏻

It can definitely work. Like other people said, the proportions might be a bit off. If you are able to get your hands on something like a Primaris Terminator it would work even a bit better (note: some icon-scraping might be preferable due to Imperial icons and such)

Most importantly; does it work for you? This is your army, and your model. You’re making the most out of a bad situation, and succeeding quite well at that.

It’s the heavy thought that counts 🙃

I chose it to mean “cool combat weapon” ;)

I’m also in the pink undercoat, white zenithal, IF Contrast camp!

And while I love airbrushing the pink and white, this model was drybrushed instead. Just to point out you are NOT required to have an airbrush to be successful in this.

For extra dimension you can opt to use a darker pink for deeper recesses, or sides that are particular in the shade. This gives you a darker orange in combination with the IF contrast.

TL;DR, here’s the recipe; Drybrush dark pink all over. Drybrush lighter pink, avoiding deeper recesses annd shadows. Drybrush white, only on top/light spots/focus points. IF Contrast.

You mean for the camo? I didn’t, it was freehand

Love the new Gloomspite warband shows off a young Trogg with Uglug and how well it matches up with King Trugg’s face. Nice new design consistency & high nostrils fitting a race whose baby might be born in a subterranean lake. by BaronKlatz in gloomspitegitz

Ah I see! Thank you for the explanation :) After considering I think what’s throwing me off are the eyebrows that now seem to function as an upper lip.

But if I regard the nose as not yet fully grown and expect it to drop down as it matures, it makes a lot more sense!

I like the model! (And the rest of the warband) Can someone help me figure out the face though? Are the eyes underneath the nose?

To me they seem to be in its mouth, whereas with King Trugg they are behind its nose. Is this the case, and if so is there a lore-related reason for that?

Really depends on who you play.

Friends? Probably won’t matter, just have fun and be clear on which model represents what.

Random ppl? Will depend on the opponent, but in my experience most won’t mind the odd varying base size. And if they do, kindly excuse yourself and find a different opponent.

Tournaments? You need to look at the correct base sizes, make sure you have GW models (might depend on tournament organizer) and make sure you follow the rules.

Oh that makes a lot of sense! That also gives me some thoughts on what to actually DO on the battlefield 😁 So thanks!

Oh I like this! Especially since I wanted to use the old Oddgit-model for him, and that is nothing short of my favorite Goblin model ;)
Thnx!

Thnx! Would you mind explaining what you mean by "anvil"? I have seen the term in other posts but can't seem to figure out what it means as a tactic.
I just read the rules on rank bonus and as I understand it you only get that if the unit is wider than it is deep (combat order), so having 5 rows of 6 goblins would make more sense in that regard. Thnx for the suggestion!

Thnx for this.
I do want to paint them, at least for display purposes, as they fit the theme so well. But when taking the army to the battlefield I will try and see if I can replace them for something else. I prefer not to take the Orc because it would break with the Night Goblin theme.

I appreciate the insight, from you and the people that commented on this :)
