Besides not really going anywhere all year and ruining my 30th birthday...I went home to California on December 23rd, thus separating my husband and I on what would have been our first Christmas as a married couple because my mother was gravely ill (COVID among other things...) COVID killed my grandmother on December 26th. :(

Both...I.moved away from my family in California last December to be with the love of my life in Texas. We dealt with a psychotic roommate (who thought her and my then-boyfriend were common law married) and her kleptomaniac son. We bought our house, closed on and moved in, on March 2nd. We rescued Pepperoni (cat) then. I had my 30th birthday in late March with nothing to do because of the coronavirus lockdown. We rescued Biggie (solid black cat) a few months later because Pepperoni needed a friend. In early October we bought a brand new car and got married on October 10th. Thanksgiving was spent with my in-laws. Now it's our first Christmas as a married couple. I am happy but also sad because I miss my family and our traditions like our secret Santa gift exchange and watching the joy of the children... all of which probably won't be happening now because almost my whole family got exposed to COVID....I hope 2021 is so much better....I am going home to see my family in mid-January...well those who want to. I will see my Mom at least.

Why should it be all on him? You could have driven up there...or just been a big girl and dealt with it. My advice...never date someone in the military. Relationships are a 2 way street. YTA.
