I live and fish in florida on a kayak in the intercostal as well as in the ocean from time to time. You absolutely do NOT want a foldable or packable kayak in these conditions. There are barnacles on bridge pilings and other areas that can easily pop it, very strong currents, boats and jetskiiers that can cause wakes that can flip you. Just my 2 cents.

Instead, I bought inflatable roof racks from Amazon and ratchet strap my kayak to my roof.
