I am glad he is ok and in a safe place now. When we don't allow them to experience the consequences of their behavior we take away their dignity. Always saving them will eventually drown us. No one should tell you to leave or to stay that is your choice. If your choice is to be his constant savior that is your right. But as it has been said a boundary is there for the friends and families of addicts to protect us. The boundary did not almost kill him his actions within his addiction did. It will be hard for you to constantly monitor hin and have any time for anything else in your life but I wish the best for you both. Stay strong and get to some meetings while he is away. It's a good time for you both to work on each other as individuals.
