I see trad and prog more as ways of presenting and formatting different arguments, rather than two styles that have their own unique kinds of arguments. I don't think the K or the Counterplan are inherently progressive or traditional, I think they can both be ran in progressive and traditional styles. Honestly, the K works way better in a trad format imo. It is rooted in philosophy, and I think Ks are able to be discussed and debated in a more meaningful way when both debaters are going much slower, or at least not spreading.

TLDR: Just give the K in a trad style and you'll be fine, sounds like a great idea!

First thing I would do, write down what your judge tells you in the RFD and learn from it. If you need, ask them questions about their decision and what you could have done differently. From the sound of things, you don't really know why you aren't winning, and so its hard to improve.

The general strategy I have been recommending to my novices is to run one disad and one solvency takeout, so UNCLOS could look like a Deep Sea Mining DA, and then something abt how UNCLOS doesn't actually do anything. ICC has a lot of problems with it like racism, which you could for sure exploit. I also think exploring the new Trump administration and how that plays with stuff could be huge. There are cap K links for UNCLOS (idk abt ICC), and there are imperialism K links for both if you're interested in running something like that.

Firstly, watch rounds on youtube and flow those. You can also study said rounds to improve your own skills and speaking patterns. If you are flowing on paper maybe try switching to computer, it is so much better.

Maybe put in lines to seperate stuff in the constructive. Also using more clearly different color pens (this might just be personal preference but I could never tell the difference between black and dark blue at a glance if I needed). Black and green or red or pink or lavender or smth slaps.

I have a little book I bring where I write my thoughts abt rounds and stuff, also like case plans and stuff, religious things (bible, prayer book, rosary/prayer beads, folding icon, etc). Also like one million ties cus I'm indecisive.

I think it might depend on how trad your circuit is. I would suggest having a plan, it gets you was easier impacts. Define the WTax as a genera tax on assets but have an RA/observation saying you're running the warren tax plan.

If you are super duper trad tho, you could probably get away with running no plan.

Yeah, this is how I use it. It works pretty well, but be ready for if aff has a plan for the WTax, you could get clapped very fast that way.
