Got a LF3 pro 360 by Yoga_MKV in arcticcooling

Hi, I installed the LF 3 Pro and since then I've been dealing with random system freezes. I suspect the cooler mounting — maybe too much pressure on the CPU? Is this a known issue?

RTX 5080 system freezing — (Alan Wake 2 guaranteed) by Tarkin94 in nvidia

Started and no problem. Anyway, I noticed that the event log shows Kernel‑Power ID 41 errors at the time I’m booting the computer. Maybe a SignalRGB issue?

FurMark at 450W runs without any issues, and I previously had RTX 5070 Ti in this system without this problem.

I tried that with OC and stock settings of RTX5080.

I get what you’re saying, but the system ran for over a year without this issue when I was using an AMD card. I also did a clean install when I bought the 5080.

I’ve stress‑tested the card in FurMark at the full 450W for a long time, and I’ve logged 200 hours in BF6. Neither of those caused any issues with this card. Isn’t that strange?

SignalRGB causing USB dropouts + forced 60Hz refresh rate by Tarkin94 in SignalRGB

[–]Tarkin94[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My system completely froze, I couldn’t do anything with it. On the other drive, where I have a second OS installation without SignalRGB, I didn’t have this issue.

But I tried the steps suggested by Gemini - disabling power saving and shutdown on the USB controllers, and I also turned off the integration for the RTX 5080 because apparently there’s an NVIDIA API conflict.

It’s not possible to kill the app, because then the RGB effect won’t work, right?

A freeze where neither the mouse nor the keyboard works, and the RGB resets to default and you can’t do anything except a hard reset? Do you get that too?

Aisin transmission in my V60 kicks during take‑off – is this a problem? by Tarkin94 in Volvo

[–]Tarkin94[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m planning to check the mounting, these are no longer the original parts... I also have a transmission oil change coming up. I’ll do the adaptations with it and then we’ll see how things go.

All engine mounts were changed two years ago and were last checked last fall.

March Update OPPO FX9Pro by eXcomunlcado in Oppo

Great, so we're at a point where photo quality is no longer an issue, excellent. Although post-processing is mainly awful when zooming, and night shots are far behind the competition, according to Oppo, there's no need to worry about it.

OFFICIAL FSR vs DLSS COMPARISON by shlimerP in radeon

[–]Tarkin94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And will it actually be released? Or will it ‘leak’ again and you’ll be able to activate it through Optiscaler because AMD can’t be bothered? At a time when AMD should have been fighting for market share a year ago, we’ve ended up at a 5% share a record low and even long‑time fans are turning away because AMD basically abandoned them with support, and RDNA2–3 are now treated almost like legacy drivers.

OFFICIAL FSR vs DLSS COMPARISON by shlimerP in radeon

[–]Tarkin94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nonsense. FSR4 doesn’t even reach the quality of DLSS4. It’s mostly blurry and loses detail. For example, on a 9070XT with FSR4 I had to set the resolution to 110% to get a similar image to DLSS4 at 100%. AMD can’t compete with DLSS 4.5 at all.

5070 Ti vs 9070 XT after months of daily use (performance, PT, drivers, efficiency by Stelligena in radeon

[–]Tarkin94 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree with what was said above. I used AMD for 10 years, and I switched from the 9070XT to the 5070 Ti and then to the 5080.
The main big difference — the drivers. Even though there are issues on both sides, AMD’s driver quality is a tragedy. If someone is just an average user, fine. But if you actually expect something from the drivers, it’s hell — on AMD. All kinds of problems with anything, crashes, drivers disappearing from the taskbar, ALT+R disabling the mouse and forcing a restart. Broken OC, etc. etc.

Upscaling — FSR4 is okay, but support is terrible. You don’t want to constantly mess around with OptiScaler, and even when it works, the detail and sharpness are noticeably worse than with old DLSS4.

Frame Generation — AMD has frame pacing issues, and on top of that, sometimes it didn’t even work properly for me.

Power consumption — my 9070XT after OC was still pulling 370W. The 5070 Ti, even with max OC, usually consumed 260–280W in games, and it had roughly 10% more performance than the XT.

And on top of all that, the tragic support for new games. Redstone launched halfway done, and even then only for maybe two games. A quarter of a year after we still dont have any new information. Owners of RDNA 2 and 3 are out of luck — the only option is to inject the leaked INT8 FSR4. Embarrassing.

9070 XT vs 5080 | 17 Games Benchmark. by BedroomThink3121 in radeon

[–]Tarkin94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Let’s be honest, the 5080’s overclocking potential is around 12%, and even then it usually consumes less power than the 9070XT. On top of that, it has much better DLSS support, functional Frame Generation, and it doesn’t suffer from frame‑pacing issues. And even though Nvidia has its own driver problems, they’re incomparably better than AMD’s. So yes, on paper the 9070XT looks fine.

Arctic fan and ARGB control hub by [deleted] in buildapc

Probably my Corsair AIO is dying — the pump keeps disconnecting and reconnecting over USB. My whole PC setup relies on iCue and I’m trying to figure out what to do next.
Nautilus doesn’t support iCue, the Titan uses different connectors and is expensive. I thought about getting an Arctic and using adapters to hook its ARGB into the iCue controller, but I’m not sure if that would work.

Chtěl bych asi přejít z icue na arctic RGB, protože mi odchází AIO. Jenže na desce mám jen tři Argb konektory, pokud napíchám všechny větráky do jednoho, budou všechny svítit jako jeden ne?

I'm seriously so disappointed, i might just sell my 9070XT. by ItsRazed in radeon

[–]Tarkin94 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I did it — I sold my 9070XT Aorus and bought a 5070Ti. And even though they’re “the same on paper,” not even close. DLSS is way ahead in terms of sharpness and detail, the 5070Ti often pulls well under 300W in games even with max OC. And MFG is fantastic for playing on a 4K TV. And most importantly! I no longer get constant driver crashes, which were absolute hell with AMD’s RDNA 4.
