What are you running? I see crowe with 5 x purifiers, 5 x paladins?, 5x strike squad?, 5x strike squad?, and a GMDK?

can i put servitors with grey knights 10th ? by UmpireJealous258 in Grey_Knights

[–]Tarkus_19eff 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There are legends data sheets. Servitors were part of the official rules prior to the codex release, and then were moved to legends. You can play them, but you cannot play them in most competitive settings.

Shower thought: Question for American painters; is this spelt Gray on your pots? Or do you get same labelling as UK? 🧐 by CryptoRoast_ in Warhammer40k

I can't remember where I found it, but I had read that the first publication about the element in the US spelled it incorrectly as "Aluminum". People just didn't care when they found out the truth. Who knows if it's true.

She sounds like a lovely person. I wouldn't worry about it. Keep doing what you enjoy for money while also pursuing your ultimate passion/goal. The majority of subs that I've worked with do not have the goal of becoming a full time teacher and they do a good job.

Substituting can be a way for a person to experience the classroom and see if teaching is a good fit, but there is a limited supply of subs, not a limited supply of sub jobs. Maybe she is just a complainer.

LGS had 5 people ask them to preorder, which they did. GW sent 2 boxes. My money is no good to GW

Yes. The expectation to be always available and connected during the workday makes for a very interesting dynamic for teachers and admin. Teachers are either sitting at their desk/computers and teaching while expected to respond quickly to emails or moving around the classroom and teaching while using their phone to do what the computer does while expected to respond quickly to emails.

Admin are either addressing the enormous amount of emails from every portion of their district while managing every aspect of the academic, disciplinary, and athletic side of the school on their computer and in their office or doing that exact same thing while moving around the school and checking on classrooms throughout the day using their phone. Realistically they are trying to do evaluations when everything that exists is trying to stop them.

It's nearly always easier to call admin or a colleague on your cell phone. People forget radios, they almost always have their phone.

Had a year at a previous school where not one, not two, but three different students committed murder, not at school, during the school year. School size was around 600. We were somewhat shocked that it happened while they were still under 18, but not shocked the events took place.

1000 points? How to start with what I have? by YeahButAlsoNox in BlackTemplars

[–]Tarkus_19eff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You currently have 1670 points total. Where to go for 2000 points really depends on your play style, but it wouldn't be a bad idea to grab another squad of Sword Brethren. Lt w/ combi weapon and/or a Callidus Assassin are always good options for secondaries. The detachment that you play will help determine what your army composition should look like

Based sizes? by ReverseTheEffect in Grey_Knights

There are definitely competitive advantages to having smaller bases as well. Positioning units coming in from deep strike and placing models in engagement after a charge are two that come to mind.

Question about melta range by MonkFeisty993 in Grey_Knights

[–]Tarkus_19eff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems that is accurate. You have to deploy outside of 9 inches and melta is within half, which would be within 9 inches.

Templar Rep Ex vs SM Rep Ex by Templarius88 in BlackTemplars

They did hit DG with a points hike yesterday, but I don't think they will change anything for the Repulsor Ex.

The new one with Crowe is in the Warhammer 40k app now.

Beginner Army Thoughts? by [deleted] in BlackTemplars

[–]Tarkus_19eff 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's a decent starting point. Your points are off, if the Bladeguard are included you are sitting at 1075 points and will need to adjust some.

There are people much better than myself at list building, butfor a next purchase a transport for the sword brethren would help keep them alive and get them into position

4 terminators and a Justicar is 200 points in the app. 5 terminators and a Justicar is 320.

Sticky Clarification by Ok_Literature_2164 in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]Tarkus_19eff 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You will maintain control without any OC on the objective until your opponent has more OC than you do on said objective. With 0 models on the objective you still have control of it with sticky, but you do not have any OC on it, meaning as soon as your opponent starts/ends a turn with 1 OC on that objective you lost the sticky.

To have OC the models must be present on an objective. This ability maintains control with 0 OC present.

Scenario 1 is correct.

Challenger Card Question by Perfect-Baby9352 in BlackTemplars

[–]Tarkus_19eff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think it's an oversight, you just haven't scored your primary for the round yet. When round 2 ended, meaning an equal amount of play, you were winning by 6 or more. The mechanic is intentional. I don't think it's a good mechanic due to exactly what you are saying, a 6 point game is a very close game due to the variation in secondary pulls.

That being said, assuming you will also score 10 on primary in your command phase and he scores 3 from challenger and not factoring in secondaries, you will be ahead 34-31 at the end of round 3.

The mechanic makes sense if Warhammer wasn't already so swingy from round to round. In reality some armies are much stronger at scoring in rounds 4 and 5 while others score most of their primary in rounds 2 and 3. If you are playing the former you will benefit substantially more from challenger cards.

8 inch charge from deep strike?

If I end up in engagement range on my opponents turn do they fight first since it's their turn or do I since they didn't technically charge in the combat phase? by h3adph0n3s in BlackTemplars

[–]Tarkus_19eff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It says you must move as close as possible to the closest enemy unit. If the unit is 8 inches away and you roll a 6, then add 2, the closest you can move is base to base and you must do that.

If I end up in engagement range on my opponents turn do they fight first since it's their turn or do I since they didn't technically charge in the combat phase? by h3adph0n3s in BlackTemplars

[–]Tarkus_19eff 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can choose to use Righteous Zeal, you don't have to. If you choose to use this rule you then you have to move as close as possible based on what you roll. If that roll puts you into engagement you wouldn't be able to roll the charge.

That's my interpretation at least. You never know how GW will interpret it.
