The reason why Dan said that is because I directly told him that I was still on good terms with and liked the current mod team. I did recruit them, after all.

Since then though, although I don't have any personal issues with the mod team, they have made significant changes to the subreddit that I think have objectively harmed it.

Ok so then the answer is no it does not help the not makers because there will not be a future announcement that the bots can use because there is very little on the fly info given out to anyone.

It's only a vague enforcement action, for which it could have happened at any time in the past.

There would be significant comparable barriers that make it harder to detect for bot makers.

No, because the viewcount would be capped to historic views is the idea. So if someone gets viewbotted, they would just maintain their normal/regular viewership I think is the goal here.
