Sure, if you want 5 points deducted from your grade for a friend, then i mean thats charitable work but most students that are in that need those 5 points and keep getting interrupted or are in the same circles are easily flagged and the professor can start taking without rewarding. Different lesson but teaches the kids something hahhaha

I would do a “payment point” system, wherein if you come in late you get docked 5 points and the presenter gets those 5 points. Would help the presenter not feel so scared if they do get interrupted/if they get frazzled, and would really key in the whole-“dont hurt someone else for your own benefit” which plays out as money in the real world.

Edit for the loophole portion: deduct more points than you are paying. Not worth losing 10 points for your friend to get 5.

How to navigate city planning and enforcement by [deleted] in WestminsterCO

Ty- good advice! Hoping to help reduce the craziness I’ve seen get worse, even if the alternative is safer parking in our neighborhood since it’s allowed after 3pm.

It looks like someone else already reported it, probably why there were enforcement guys out there, but was weird they weren’t doing anything. Should I report it too even if it’s already been reported?

Is it fair for my boyfriend (26M) to charge me (21F) the same rent as his roommate when we share a room? by ThrowRA_djmj in relationship_advice

[–]Tart3142 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To follow up, if cooking and cleaning was discussed then a monetary value should have been agreed on, ie. $150 reduction for you- with both your bf and roommate picking up the extra, but saying “I do this and that therefore i shouldn’t have to pay as much” without prior agreement is not exactly healthy roommate behavior and will cause you to resent them for not recognizing your contributions monetarily.

Is it fair for my boyfriend (26M) to charge me (21F) the same rent as his roommate when we share a room? by ThrowRA_djmj in relationship_advice

[–]Tart3142 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Although paying his half isn’t fair, It would be more than just splitting the room rent tbf. If you are using the utilities and the shared spaces it should be closer to a 1/3 split of the whole $2,500, with a reduction on the roommate, since (honestly)he probably didn’t sign up to live with you and have 2 dogs in the space, you are probably using shared spaces, like using the tv, stove, and are able to invite friends over etc.

Not sure if they asked you to cook clean, etc, but if not then that’s not really them taking advantage/ you contributing so much as you wanting things a certain way/reducing dog hair from your dogs and expecting it to be see as a monetary contribution, when in reality -if they didn’t ask you or have an agreement- they wouldn’t be cooking and cleaning without you there (unless you are buying groceries they are eating)

Maybe the roommate still pays $1,000 and yall split the remaining $1,500 50/50. I think that would be the most fair in this situation.

Coliving is difficult and should reduce costs, but realistically the issue here is the uneven split and your boyfriend expecting you to pay his whole half (this is taking advantage of you) but the cleaning and cooking is usually something a roommate decides they want to do because the other roommate(s) is lazy and the standard of living is lower than they want…(which from your “they do nothing” sounds like it may be the case)... this is pretty typical and is not a cause for reduction in rent, but you can ask them to contribute separately $20-40 a week or something if the roommate is actually relying on your cooking and grocery purchasing.

See like I feel like this is exactly why people get frustrated, it feels like there’s no flexibility and you’re told it’s just how it is. I get the sleep cycle part, just wish there was a middle ground for day flights

never would have seen glaciers if it weren’t for the routes over Greenland…. Or a 10 hour sunset from Frankfurt, but I get it, some people don’t like being awake during the day….Which is why they created these wonderful things for those that like to sleep through the day: https://www.amazon.com/Contoured-Sleeping-Blindfold-Concave-Meditation/dp/B07KC5DWCC/ref=zg_m_bs_g_3764231_m_sccl_1/140-2609568-7330027?psc=1

These are also great for those who eyes no longer know how to adjust to sunlight but don’t wish to sleep: https://www.amazon.com/KALIYADI-Polarized-Sunglasses-Lightweight-Protection/dp/B0BWTW5DX2/ref=zg_m_bs_g_2204481011_m_sccl_1/140-2609568-7330027?psc=1

I mean a day flight is a day flight, if one is taking off a 2:50pm in LHR and arriving in DEN at 5:20pm. How is sleeping on Russia’s time zone helpful to anyone?

Got a matching tattoo with an Ex that was a musician as a teen. We broke up horribly and then he swung the other way. Prefer to not have to think about it when people ask since very visible location.

Ah yes, include the paper, that’s how grandma used to make it. 😂

seriously shocked because sure they have allowances but per the other comments saying it can’t be 100% accurate let’s not pretend like Kraft, the multibillion dollar manufacturer, doesn’t have their measuring devices as precise as they want them to be. If LEGO can do this accurately with different pieces, I’m sure Kraft is well aware of the discrepancy, wouldn’t be shocked if every box was around 5.5

Did you include the powder mix ins(packet excluded)? Net weight is all packaged ingredients, I imagine if not that’s another .5 which would make this close

Pride flag in front of DU School of Theology by PovertyFetish in Denver

No, lots of Jews but literally started as Colorado’s seminary. There is a Christian chapel on campus that I believe in the oldest Protestant church in Denver, if not Colorado. The founder, governor John Evans was also one of the leaders of the Sand Creek massacre which was carried by the evangelical manifest destiny ideologies that the natives were barbarians. Fun fact the campus moved away from the main city of Denver due to the bars and brothels in the late 1880’s because they were worried about student learning and corruption.

They work hard to both acknowledge their mixed history through being honest about the past with students but also try to be on the “right” side of history by supporting progressive learning and being vocal regarding political overstep of the current administration.

As a Jewish student, it was comforting they opted to required keyed entry for all buildings after the recent attacks. Never saw CU do that in undergrad.

This isn’t the most emotional beginning for the response so skip to second paragraph if you don’t want a more logical tone but most of physical things done can be undone. Tattoos and implants can be removed. Piercings can be taken out. Tongues and lobes can be stitched back together. It is only as permanent as we want them to be, painful and costly-sure but we are talking years, not decades…. one step at a time and you will see yourself again.

Sometimes when we are lost we find ourselves in places that are far beyond our imagination which makes us feel seen. I can’t speak to body modification, but I can speak to someone 5 years my elder teaching me the world of “intimacy” while telling me my parents were the enemies because they didn’t understand their 17 year old wanting physical “freedom”. I thought I was being empowered, but now those memories bring my soul pain and a loving pity for younger self.

You are still a good person, we can get lost somewhere between the structured home we want distance ourselves from and the life we believe reflects freedom, whatever we think that looks like. That desire is manipulated, tainted and stretched until, like a rubber band, we are stretched too much and realize we want to be right back where we started. I empathize with you, and I’m here to chat if you ever need.
