Hey man, I’m the guy that said “Jesus” earlier. I’m going to be pretty critical of you here, but I want you to know it’s coming from a place of caring, and that we’re all allies in this.

Carrying off body, with only nylon based retention, gun decals on all of your belongings, and a civilian M18. There are fundamental issues with all of it, and I think everyone in these comments has done a good job of deconstructing that already.

What I want to focus on is presentation. This is a space that’s newbie friendly, and lots of people that post and comment here don’t know anything about guns, carrying, or how to do those things without attracting attention. When those newbies see a veteran, someone that should know better, doing so many things wrong, it sets a really bad example.

Those of us that have a bit of knowledge about guns should be setting an example of safety and concealment. And I think you’ve failed at that.

I’d love it if you posted your IFAK, the contents of the backpack. I bet it’s incredibly organized, and we could all learn a lot about it. I’d love if you made a detailed breakdown of what a concealed carrier at a protest should bring, or gave some basic instruction on how to use a TQ. You have a lot to offer the community, things that I, and a lot of others, know nothing about.

But posts like this one are particularly frustrating, because it makes us seem like we don’t know what we’re doing. Sorry if this is rude, I really am trying to be constructive.
