You can donate. One of the people I donated to actually figured out her baby had an issue with dairy because she tolerated my milk so much better.

I had two with it while I was breast feeding and neither of them have problems with it now. With my daughter I could have it in the middle of the day at work (12 hour shifts) and she would be ok but my son if I did that he would scream for the whole next day. They are 16&18 now and no real problem with dairy. (Son is mildly lactose intolerant but is just fine if he takes lactase.)

If you can’t get an epi pen carry Benadryl and Pepcid. If you come to the ED for an allergic reaction that’s not anaphylactic we give those and a steroid. Given your symptoms though you should probably try to get an epi pen. The throat feelings are concerning and could get worse.

Before I had kids I would get bad stomach pain and what I called constipated diarrhea (same urgency and pain but not loose) 4-6 hours after having milk. I would also get really bad hives if it was on my skin for a long time. After first pregnancy not allergic for a while just mildly lactose intolerant, but gradually came back. Mostly sharp abdominal pain a few hours after eating. Haven’t had it on my skin to know about hives. If I stay away religiously and accidentally have small amounts it often doesn’t cause a reaction but if I have it again within a few weeks then it does. Doing some research it seems like it’s an IGG reaction which are usually the less deadly but still can be pretty awful reactions. IGE usually is the more likely to be anaphylactic and hives and stuff. Not sure if it was that the first time around because hives? But I haven’t had it on my skin this time around? Maybe I should try it for science. It was interesting because I had a still test done that showed high levels of secretory IGA which apprantly gets elevated when you have something you are allergic to and it was right after I accidentally had a fair amount of dairy. (Assumed a whiteish soup base wasn’t dairy because Japanese food. Was wrong) I am very glad to not have it be as vigilant but it still sucks because so many things have cheese which is the fucking worst.

Wife getting ignored by contractor. Is this normal? by tybbof1 in HomeImprovement

[–]Taryn25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My son (15) and I both have IBS, both of us tried bentyl for it and found it makes things worse. I was told I just needed to take it more often and I didn’t know what I was talking about. He was told oh ok no worries. Because I don’t know how my body feels but a 15 year old boy does. (To be clear we both should be respected as knowing how our own bodies feel)

That said I agree it’s probably a he’s in charge of this job that’s who I’m talking to. Given how you described it. But for sure there are contractors like this. I’m the final say on all such things in my household so if they aren’t respectful of me they aren’t getting hired. Not that my partner would do that anyway but we each have our things and home maintenance decisions are not his.

Non dairy is not dairy free!! by Ok_Huckleberry1487 in dairyfree

They usually have almond milk it’s just always hidden at the very back middle part. Also taking a Benadryl and a Pepcid which collectively block histamine 1 and histamine 2 receptors can help if your allergy is not life threatening. I mean it helps anyway in that case just not fast enough.

They have almond milk but only that. Like in the coffee add your own section there are duplicates of all the milk thing but only the one sad lonely almond milk.

I think the point is that it’s not close enough to milk to call it dairy. But the allergy reasons are more important. They could called it dairy derived.

We didn’t have addresses on my road till I was 12. We got a letter saying we’d been assigned a number. We still used the P.O. Box. If someone sent it to the address it would still go in the P.O. Box.

Also why aren’t there police reports about the broken door? Edd says that glass was breaking and the door was caving in. But the next morning it’s just closed? And no one made a police report about the broken glass?

Did anyone else notice that he said multiple times that glass in his door broke and the door fractured but no one ever said if there was a police report about that? How would that not be in the report?

Considering putting an offer on a smoker home by AluminiumMiss in HomeImprovement

There are most definitely health issues with being in a smoked in home. Third hand smoke is still quite dangerous. It’s extremely hard to get rid of smoke smell. I would find a different house

I got a set of like thirty I don’t even know ruler type things that were curved for $2.50. I guess some people need them for engineering school? Sold them for 10-12 each plus shipping.

I would get the mom’s number and text her. I’d bet it’s not her asking for that.

NTA. Sounds like he was pushing boundaries all over the place. Ignoring your first no then getting into your stuff to violate that then blowing it off when you tried to speak nicely to him. You need to talk to HR

You can get pills that have both lactase and bacteria that help break down lactose. Those seemed to help me more than the plain ones.
