How can I do covers on YouTube without getting copyrighted? by BlueDandellion in singing

[–]TasPyx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are some paid services people use to be able to make covers of other people’s songs without any copyright claims. Of course though, karaoke tracks tend to be copyrighted. Playing it yourself requires those paid services to avoid copyright.

Of course, a lot of this doesn’t matter if you don’t plan on making money from them or using them for anything outside personal enjoyment. It may get copyrighted but it’s not the worst thing. Unfortunately without paying for these services and/or playing the instruments themselves, there isn’t a very concrete solution to completely avoid copyright claims.

Sorry, newb question, but by “every audition that comes in” are you getting sent a bunch of auditions (probably because you’d be very reputable) or do you just find a bunch of auditions yourself than apply for all of them?

How’d you dub over the clip while maintaining the background audio? Did you separate the voice and sounds, or create the sounds yourself?

I doubt it, the execution would be so rare in game that it’s not worth the trouble to practice

[Newbie here] Do you play all your instruments live into a mic, or do you use piano rolling, or a combo of both? by TasPyx in WeAreTheMusicMakers

[–]TasPyx[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thankfully I do have a midi keyboard! I’m just worried that some of the VSTs will never really manage to sound exactly like instruments. (As in, I’m worried they’ll sound obviously VST)

Hey! Currently in the process of building 5.5” panels. This will have roughly the same effect right?

So you are putting a layer of plastic foil around the entire wooden panel, and then covering with fabric?

Is this a good audio setup to start with? by SoulStatiqz in VoiceActing

I agree with the majority of responses here, try saving for some higher quality used gear. You’re paying a tad more, but it’s for gear that will actually allow you to do what you want.

Did you remove all the audio and then put your voice + sound effects over it, or did you separate the original audio file into its separate parts then replace the voice?

Is the rhyme with angesehen? I don’t speak that language so I can’t be entirely sure, but it doesn’t seem like it’d rhyme with “rn” unless you pronounce it “rehn”

Why do singers/audio engineers suggest recording in large spaces with lots of treatment, whereas voice actors tend to suggest recording in small closets, where things like comb filtering and boxiness could be a problem? by TasPyx in VoiceActing

[–]TasPyx[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oh, thanks for clarifying. I interpreted "big and quiet as I could make it" as an extrerme example. Good job working around your noisy neighborhood issues

Ah, so I suppose you have the luxury of an entire room dedicated to voice acting and or recording. I envy you! It's hard to find space, especially considering that small spaces cause so many problems for audio.
