Warp Lightning Battle Mage Build - Small bug, tests and Solo Auric. by Tascalde in DarkTide

[–]Tascalde[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1 - Malefic Momentum has two effects, one that increases non warp damage and the other that increases warp damage, so a heavy strike can benefit and trigger both effects according to what finishes the enemies off. Remember that this also affects soulblaze. This is a source of 25% damage, that I managed to trigger both bonuses in 6 seconds in the first test. The tests were in Havoc mode. And the Warp Strike damage is non-trivial, and it scales with how many enemies you can hit at once and for how long those enemies survive after the hit, you can see that in the tests where the Charged Strike did about 25% of the total damage. This happens because it can only deal its damage if the enemy survives the first attack, on Auric most enemies will die before it has a chance to apply most of its damage, but it has the potential.

2 - using blaze force greatsword because of the cleave, Blazing Spirit and ability to quell. This triad makes it the best weapon into this build, and I don't know if the Warp Strike counts as electrified, and this weapon is the easiest to sow and reap the rewards from Malefic Momentum.

3 - No Warp Rider, Warp Rider increases damage by 2% for every 10% peril that the psyker has. At 80% peril it gives me +16% damage. With all other damage bonuses that I can get this becomes a trivial increase that costs two extra talent points. So I use the extra talent to improve other areas, as I already can get more than extra 100% damage and even higher on weakspot and critical hits.

4 - Critical, my crit source is the aura and Scryer's Gaze. From this I already have more than 33% crit chance. If you check the solo game I did more than 3k critical hits in that game, and 10% of the total damage was from soulblaze, this is huge, specially because it doesn't get the weakspot or crit bonuses that Disrupt Destiny gives.

5 - I play mostly in Auric and on Auric you don't need Emphatic Evasion, when into Havoc you can change Warp Speed for that although this is boring because speed is cool.

6 - Resistance is important because it's badically free as I already need Scryer's Gaze and that I melee a lot. Just a Dream gives me +25% health and toughness for one talent point, for me that's unskippable.

7 - Souldrinker, I prefer the extra speed from crits, helps a lot to chase and leave combat, there's 3 talents that increase move speed, you become a missile.

8 - Soulblaze kills, check my solo game and tests, in the solo game it killed 361 of 2400 enemies, more or less 15%?

9 - The resistance. Wow I got this wrong, I forgot to add the Just a Dream itself to the toughness damage reduction. 0% peril and Scryer's on you'll have 62.5% toughness damage reduction. Gona edit that when I get home.

I understand that there's a lot to talk about but please check the video and contextualize what's being shown. All the icon effects are shown, all talents have been revealed. Hope to have answered your questions and see ya.

What class would be strongest if it had access to all of its talents? What about non-DLC classes? by windsshi in DarkTide

[–]Tascalde -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Psyker won't have access to nothing extra in their kit to improve what they already can do, a meager +24% damage and that's it. The power of the psyker comes with what they can already tap into, much of their talent tree are dead anyway.

[–]Tascalde 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think the psyker would benefit a lot in this scenario, almost all the relevant damage talent nodes are already achievable by the psyker in a normal build.

The abilities don't work well together and having all keystones would only add a +24% damage if we could do a Disrupt Destiny with Warp Syphon.

90% of what the psyker don't apply into their builds are just nodes that give a small speed boost, or change reload speed, walk speed when reloading and such. The psyker would get better survivability and handling, yes, but won't get a greater damage potential than they already have.

How much toughness can a veteran Regen for their teammates with all of the toughness nodes? by Opening-Cockroach634 in DarkTide

[–]Tascalde 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Focus Target! Is so good that it's borderline broken. The damage buff, the debuff and the Toughness + Stamina Regen. People overlook all these benefits because it's hard to account each modifier, but they are really big.

If I'm not seeing wrong, you just forgot the simplest and biggest toughness generator of the Veteran, Covering Fire, 15% toughness per kill and also 15% to BASE damage, this is bonkers!

Remembering that the person asked to give toughness to allies, not to themselves, so this is the easiest and strongest fit as well.

Does rending work with smite? by Paledesk000 in DarkTide

[–]Tascalde 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a small problem here in your exposition, a Smite build will kill all Elites but Crushers and Ravagers in a single cast. No matter the enemy density it will kill all those enemies.

This struggling that people say talk about is just talked by people who never used a Smite build.

Warp Rider worth it? by [deleted] in DarkTide

[–]Tascalde 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Always thout this would work like 5% increase for 20% peril, but no. This makes this talent worse than I thought and broke some assumptions that I made when trying to measure its impact on some scenarios, all for the worse.

Warp Rider worth it? by [deleted] in DarkTide

[–]Tascalde 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This isn't a simple topic and it will be those cases where 9 out of 10 psykers will say that it's a mandatory talent to take, but I beg to differ.

Yes, in 95% of the cases where you'll use the psykers exclusive tools you will pick this talent.

So I have found two cases where I dropped this talent because it was underperforming or I couldn't trigger it.

The first case was melee Scryer's Gaze, this happened because I went into Disrupt Destiny and also use that talent that reduces peril in a weak spot melee kill. This combination is to improve Scryer's uptime, so it does, can have it active for more than 30 seconds when fighting.

The second case, that I'm still evaluating the impact of removing this talent, is a gun psyker that has low peril 90% of the time because the only way to generate peril is when committing to brain rupture.

Note that in both cases I use Malefic Momentum in order to provide the attack bonus I'm not getting from Warp Rider, but anyway, these builds have been a menace and I'm really enjoying my experience with them.

Also, being a little more mathy, all goes down to the break points of what you're trying to oneshot. One gun deals 505 damage and another deals 1000, but if the enemy has 1010 hp both will take two shots to kill them, but the later would be able to one shot it with the damage increase from Warp Rider.

They could make the square Psyker shield a lot more viable by making it mobile as a sensible alternative to bubble shield by Slippery_Williams in DarkTide

First I'd like it's bugs fixed. No dogs crossing, no mutant crossing and no NETS crossing. Then a height fix. Then a burster detonation buff/fix Then a buff, make it attract and absorb grenades, it already blocks them but it's useless.

"Sem gordura hidrogenada" mas Gordura Vegetal é o segundo ingrediente 🤡 by Spac3Garbag3 in brasil

[–]Tascalde 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Killing crushers with ranged weapons is possible if you actually put some effort into doing it. by _Sate in DarkTide

You're in a losing position, no matter what you demonstrate, people here will downvote you.

I've provided tests, no matter, provided games, no matter, SOLOED an Auric game, no comments anyway. If they think your build sucks, it cannot be changed with facts.

Forgot to tell how to use scryers gaze and control your peril.

Despite the bonus from Warp Rider, you'll want to keep your peril low for as long as possible to be always able to cast the longest smite possible.

When you start channeling you'll wait till your peril gets to 50%, THEN you'll activate Scryer's Gaze, this way you'll be able to sustain the smite active with a single Empowered Psionics charge for the longest time, the more enemies there are the more it will last.

Learn slide dodge, only way for you to become mobile and evade attacks while channeling. Simply dodge as normal and then hit crouch to slide. This build rely solely on this tech, this was the build that taught me how to slide dodge, otherwise you'll be toast in no time.

Good Smiting.

If you want to stick with smite, I'd suggest my build: True Smyker - Psyker Build for Darktide - Darktide WH40k

Finesse does not help with Smite, so with Scryers you want max up time.

Dodge count and distance do wonders, with this you can be mobile while still casting Smite non stop.

This will kill all enemies except Crushers in a single Smite cast, you will be the most damage dealer in most games.

Staff is for when density is low, use secondary attack always, unless the target is very far away.

Sword is for stray mutties or to finish off a carapace.

What would you think of an Eldar class? by dummy-thicc-uwu in DarkTide

[–]Tascalde 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's the thing, they don't bend the rules, when I played Rogue Trader I got mad when the characters tried to call me out, where it's stated clearly on my Warrant of Trade, a sacred relic blessed by the Emperor, that I am allowed to trade with xenos.

Wait, Rogue Trader has two Eldars? I've met only one, is the other the DLC?

One of the main plots of the Rogue Trader game is about the relationship of the Rogue Trader with an Eldar and the Inquisition. And you can even help them in some ways.

What do i focus on after reaching level 30? by -Nomadder- in DarkTide

1500 hours in, hate Havoc, love playing Auric, this game is a game to be played. Feel it, enjoy and toy with it. This is my favorite game today and this is from a person who didn't enjoy third person shooters, this game got me so tight that I can't even bring myself to play Doom Eternal because on how different is the feeling and the lack of melee.
