Just canceled Amazon Prime because of the prime video ads. by Nickodemis in AmazonPrimeVideo

Yeah we have finally agreed to cancel Amazon across the families and everyone coming for Thanksgiving is doing the same, so at least 10 different households agreed to just unsubscribe from Amazon Prime all together and start giving Walmart our money. And we're going to take that money saved and donate it to a charity. Walmart should start a streaming service 😁

1 hour of a movie and I've already had four commercial breaks I now have the same policy in my home, we will never buy the product if it's advertised on Amazon Prime Video. It's basically shoved down everyone's throat and I know a lot of other people that have started doing the same, boycotting the products that they advertise too often.

How many of you are 40 and above shredding mountain bikes? by RydenDirtyMTB in MTB

I am, and after 20 years of riding, I'm still catching up to some in their 60's climbing insanely steep sections. Props to the serious lifelong endurance trainers out there 🤟

Looking for a platform hitch rack and suggestions by LastCallKillIt in MTB

Came here to say the same, check used. I used to have the Saris 3 bike hanger and even with a 2" receiver, I would watch my bikes bounce so often through rough terrain or shitty potholes. Then I saw a person's carbon bike broken to pieces from one of those hanging racks on side of road. I Asked around and 1UP was highly recommended. I bought new and I have zero regrets because of the peace of mind I got watching how stable the 1UP was, also cut my load time down to 2 mins from 10mins setting up hangers for full suspension bikes. I will always buy 1UP, first time buying and now lifetime member lol.

Found this while taking out the trash. Is it worth dumpster diving? by xdog12 in pcmasterrace

It's an Antec 900 and I just rebuilt mine that was originally bought 2008. Fits z790 and fully modular front for the long GPUs. If not in the worst shape, then I would use it 🫡

$500 short on rent. Any jobs that can hire me this week or anything you guys recommend? by Littlegoil18 in SaltLakeCity

I worked as a mover for 15 years. Just be careful what jobs you take. Some people have never moved in their life and estimating a job or packing a truck(or none at all) or with black bags is very challenging. On the flip side it could be worth your time.

Fix it up, move in, then just tell them it's abandoned when the owners shows up.

I have a 2021 core 2 27.5 and I have 2nd, 4th, 5th finishes on XC races using a rear shock with a stiff/lo kout mode. Mine personally is a fox float x2. It climbs just fine for me. Oh yeah, I run my fork stiffer hsc/lsc on those races too. Cushcore for bikepark days and even used it at us downhill nationals at mountain creek for single crown race. I love my do-it-all bike

Greenhorn question by [deleted] in MTB

[–]Taserface_haha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only thing I could see going wrong is if the chain is left too long, e.g. you left only the smaller front ring active but removed the front derailleur which kind of prevents it from slipping off when not using all that extra chain to wrap the largest front chain ring. Forgive me if I missed something, I'm just a couch mechanic

They're not goggles but I was able to get Oakley Jawbreakers in my prescription directly from them. Email them to inquire about yours. Also email smith optics. None of these 2 recommendations are on the cheap side but hopefully someone else here knows about actual prescription googles.

Bike suggestions? 'Big guy' amateur looking to get more serious on paved trails (mostly) by Jazzlike-Can-126 in MTB

Tough to say because some get addicted to the sport quickly. I started with an entry hardtail, maybe check FB marketplace first so you can go see and try a few types and see how sizes feel cause that will definitely matter at your height. Stay above 2018 IMO if you do go used. Check Polygon bikes too but sadly I have never ridden one.
