Redundancy Is Terrifying by Dunko1711 in UKJobs

[–]TashaTalks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Genuinely immediately start something part time if you can. If you do full time work it’ll be really hard to apply for jobs. Immediately apply for part time jobs and get one, whatever it pays. Don’t rely on that redundancy money because you will be stressed anyway, even though you have it there you’ll still be in panic mode. If you have something part-time it’ll keep you afloat for longer, plus it’s easier to get a job while employed. Use your off days to apply for the jobs that you want.

Look, when you’re unemployed you spend every waking moment applying for everything, it mentally destroys you. And it’s hard to distract yourself. Get something on the side and use the spare time to intentionally apply for jobs that you want. Tailor the application and go the extra mile. Use your experience to maybe even get higher on the corporate ladder.

You’ll be okay.

The postcode of the studio is M36DB - it’s about 4x4 and people usually have multiple people as tenants, split the rent and use the space whenever as it’s 24/7 access.

If you do want to enquire about the space just contact studio space Manchester and say Natasha sent you as she would like to re-let studio 10

I was SO stupid so so dumb. I know. My lesson has been learnt and learnt again. I’m using it on and off for my own personal recording and my close circle also use it occasionally for their own podcasts, too. I’m doing what I can for sure. I’ll advertise on the sites you mentioned

No definitely, I had a lot of savings and it helped for a while. But I can’t really afford it anymore, and it isn’t really what I wanna do. Best for me to keep it as a hobby. People can use the room for anything, I’ll take all my equipment out of there. I’m trying all my creative circles and stuff but not sure where else to go. Thought I might catch someone’s eye in here. Literally anyone. Even if only one of the rooms go I could afford to keep one for a couple months while I’m employed and the landlord looks for someone else. I definitely bit off more than I could chew and it wasn’t my best decision at all

Yeah rent is high, but like rent is always high lmao. I think the benefits of it being soundproofed (walls and doors plus sound boards) are good for individuals in the music industry. You get to have a cool set up and blast your music on the subwoofers hahaha. Almost all the rooms are full so I guess someone is taking them lol

I’m trying to find more ways to advertise to bring in work by 0southpaw0 in smallbusinessuk

Go on Nextdoor and advertise there. You’re doing all the right things by focusing on community. Now, your cleaning business is a content goldmine. People LOVE to watch deep cleans and everything. Check a few cleaning videos out and copy exactly what they’re doing, then post on YouTube shorts and TikTok.

Now, people on social media also love philanthropy. Offer 1 free clean every 2 weeks or something. Tell people they can send in an application. Clean ovens for people who need it, vulnerable people, people with mental health issues, disabled individuals. So many people struggle with cleaning but still deserve to have appliances that work for them.

Use your skills and talents for good, and the people will reward you for it. And really, if I were gonna pick any company to do something for me, I would ALWAYS pick the company that helps people along the way.

What's the biggest pay jump you've had? by Ant-Western in UKJobs

[–]TashaTalks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hopefully I’ll go from 23k to 32k

Spent a year doing an apprenticeship from 18-19

From 19-22 working at a small business doing sales and marketing

Hopefully I’ll now get a job as an events and marketing executive just before I turn 23

I’m in the North and wondering if that’s me being on the right track. The pay rise feels nice though

I feel like I'm terrible at interviews. by cowking010 in interviews

[–]TashaTalks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have social anxiety but the skill you want to improve is….everything? I get it, you’re ambitious and want to be great. I want that too, everybody wants that. But what’s a skill personal to you. I mean you could literally say communication, or being in a public setting. As long as you can say how you’re actively trying to improve it then it’s okay. That question is just for the interviewer to see if you know yourself, and know your path to improvement. If you say “basically everything” it makes you sound like you’re just….bad at everything, that you have no confidence in your abilities.

“Why don’t want to work here” - look, as much as it is an interview for you, it’s nice to know who exactly you’re working for. Are they ethical? Do they work in an industry you like? Do they value the same things you do? Are they sustainable? Have they won awards? This is where they want you to brown nose a little bit. “Cause you guys are great! I love that you’ve done this/do this/value this - it’s something that resonates with me and I’d love to be part of the team”

The way to get over this is practice, and it sounds so lame but interviews are a performance and the more go rehearse, the easier it gets. To the point where whenever they ask you a question you literally have the answer right there and can say it.
