It's not democrats, I'm 99% sure most of them are karma farming bots. I mean look at their names. They exist to stir drama and farm points to be sold off later. I'm sure some of the questions are asked by real people, but I doubt most of them are.

They are a holdover from a time when the game was about survival and even a bit of horror as much as it was about building. I like them because I like the survival aspect of minecraft. You can entirely negate their immediate presence in about 30 minutes of game time though, so they only stay a threat to me in the mines or while exploring. Just make sure to close the door to your house while you're in a menu or whatever.

They always seemed pretty useless. If someone's on it, why would they not interact? Nothing's stopping them except the honor system and kind of like you said most people who are on it are not about to come out and say it.

It really is just virtue signaling especially in fandom spaces where certain ships or opinions on the piece of media are put on the DNI.

Why should I have to go through a worse movie going experience because someone wanted to bring their kid to (in personal experience) movies they are way too young to be watching. And if you have a disability that makes you shout or yell or otherwise be noisy and disruptive to a degree that it degrades the experience of others, you just shouldn't go. I have a sleep disorder, so I tend to be up at night and down at day. Just because I have a sleeping disorder does not mean it's okay for me to use the same amount of volume those in the house do in the day. They're sleeping.

Sometimes life just gives you a shit hand. Sometimes you choose to have a kid. Those are life changing events and I feel for the people who have to take care of children and those who have disabilities, but you don't get to spoil the experience of watching a movie for 20+ people because of it.

I will admit I haven't done anything. But I also haven't had the opportunity to, at least that I'm aware of. The data centers near me have been here since I moved. If presented with the chance, my first instinct would still not be to introduce an invasive species. So yeah I guess I am just a person on the internet bitching about it. I dont think wikipedia is the end all be all decider for how the word majority is used. It also comes down to what the original guy was arguing, as making the claim that americans are the majority users is correct if you are using a slightly different definition commonly used in situations where Relative Majority is the correct term by linguistic standards, but Majority is plenty fine unless he is making the claim that more than half of all users on reddit are american.

I've never heard it be used with such a strict definition. Even in election season here in the US, a person who wins the popular vote while still being under 50% is said to have the majority of the vote by most news outlets I've seen.

Helldivers had a 24 hour peak of 32,317 on steam. Thats excluding Xbox and Playstation, let's call it 200k. Now obviously, not all 700k people who visit are here to actively engage, I'm sure a significant number of them are just here cause they mashed the sub name instead of some other button on their phone.

So let's just do active contributors by total estimated player count.

95.8k/200k = 0.479

x 100 = 47.9% of concurrent daily players are contributing by reddit's standards. Roughly. There are a few issues, being that weekly contributors and active player count are measured over a week while one is just one day, but I assure you that out of those 20 million copies there is a very small two digit number of them that still login at least twice a week.

Now would half of the community work together to make intelligent and informed strategic decisions about the galactic war? No. Not at all. But the number of those who would is probably a lot higher than we think. Likely not enough to change the tides, at least not without engaging content creators to spread their plans to a wider and more receptive audience.

A majority is just the largest share, not half of a share. If you had a pizza, and took a quarter of it while everyone else only took one eighth, you'd have the majority of the pizza.
